3PDT switching

Does the 3PDT switch have an orientation? I read somewhere that wiring is based on something like this: - - - (throw 1) - - - (common) - - - (throw 2) Does this mean that the only requirement is that the pins are wider in the left-right orientation only? Also, how does the switch work? Does the top ...

Re: Catalinbread - Galileo Vox in a Box [traced]

Cheers! So would one of these two options be alright then? I won't use the battery connection.

Thanks for your help - look forward to getting it finished and plugging it in.

Re: Catalinbread - Galileo Vox in a Box [traced]

I'm up to doing the offboard wiring on this. Is the wiring for the treble boost switch just a simple on/off between the TB Input and TB Output? I.e. no need to incorporate anything else such as a ground? Maybe someone has a nice gutshot photo to show houw it looks? Cheers

Re: Catalinbread Echorec

Link to the manual below, if anyone is after a good read:

http://www.catalinbread.com/ECHORECmanual.pdf

Reading through the manual, it talks about the pedal having some sort of bonus Easter Egg, being some sort of bonus fuzz...

Re: Pot numbering, plus offboard wiring

Thanks Rocklander - When asking the question, I had assumed that the legs were facing away from me, which is 180deg to what you were describing. Is what I've sketched up the numbering you had in mind? That page showing offboard wiring looks excellent. I'm always keen to avoid a 9v battery where poss...

Pot numbering, plus offboard wiring

Hi all - When wiring the pot to the circuitboard, I thought the lugs were 1, 2, 3 (from the left) when the dial is facing up... is this right? I see that some schematics show resistors or caps soldered to pots... is this something that should be often done, or is it a pedal-specific option? Also, is...

2n2222A vs P2n2222A

Hi all. Silly question, probably deserves a silly answer. Are these two essentially the same? Cheers.

2n5457 vs 2n5484

Hiya - is there any difference between these. Looking to build a Formula No. 5 and I have some 2n5484 lying around, but parts list asks for 2n5457. Cheers

Re: Rocktek Distortion DIR-01

Cheers.
I replaced the resistor with a wire and took out the diodes. The result is a nice clean boost in volume which works really well to push my Big Muff clone.
Thanks for the advise - a cheap pedal salvaged into something reasonable.

Re: Rocktek Distortion DIR-01

I removed R26, D5 and D6 as shown in the above scematic and now have no sound when I switch the pedal on. Although no sound is better than the fizzy distortion it had before, I would like to get something out of it. Do I need to replace the resistor or diodes with something, even a wire, to get some...

Re: Rocktek Distortion DIR-01

I have one of these beasts too and I'm keen to mod it into something remotely useable. Anybody done the mod suggested here or have any other ideas as how to pimp the pedal?
