Re: Bell Electrolabs - Fuzz

I’m looking for the ADT, Flanger and Filter in this series if anyone is holding?

Re: Dallas Arbiter Wah Face [schematic]

It’s a wah-volume. I’m now told it’s made by GEM, which is actually printed on the circuit board.

Dallas Arbiter - Wah Face [schematic]

I got this in a trade and know nothing about it apart from the obvious. I don’t recognise the inductor from anything online. It has two BC109.

Re: MAXON Compressors/Compandors - anyone?

I don’t think so, as it does not appear to be an optical circuit, but an Ibanez CP830 in Maxon clothing.

Re: Boss - DB-5 Driver [schematic]

Has anyone figured out what the Attack setting (allegedly a compressor) is supposed to sound like? Mine is like a spitty, broken fuzz from around 10 o’clock, which is bizarre.

Re: MAXON Compressors/Compandors - anyone?

Mystery solved - appears to be the same board as in the Ibanez CP830

Re: MAXON Compressors/Compandors - anyone?

I have this, which I like so much the nephew is getting an Origin Effects and I’m keeping this one. I know very little about it. It’s definitely not like a CP101, more like a Dynacomp. It squashes and sustains, but more controllably, also thickens the tone.

Re: Orange - Distortion

I don’t think these were made by Colorsound. The company was Dharma Sound, who were related to Colorsound, yes, and did design work for them. They were based in Kent - 105 Bellegrove Road, Welling, which on Google Maps street view appears to be above where the Paddy Power betting shop is now. I just...

Dharma - Sound Distorter

One has to unsolder the jacks to get to the trace side, but maybe components offer a clue?

Re: WEM - Project V [schematic]

I have one of these, and the battery arrangement/clips/contacts suggests 18v using old school cylindrical batteries rather than 9v, which is what everyone seems to be running their versions on. Has this ever come up?

Re: Top Gear - Sound Rotator

interested to hear how it sounds, I can't quite picture it. I'm also intrigued. If you can't see the flickr schematic, it's like four colorsound inductor-less twin-T wah circuits in parallel but all tuned to different bands, and all modulated by a (PSO?) LFO. I am going to type thing out with a LED...

Thanks.

Re: Top Gear - Sound Rotator *now with circuit*

Herewith circuit diagram + post-fix gutshots by Dan Coggins of Dinosaural, although he stresses that without rebuilding it, the oscillator section may not be 100% correct. It had a dead RPY58A photoresistor (replaced with ORP12, similar functionally), oscillator needed tuning, lube trimpots, fix buz...

Re: Top Gear - Sound Rotator

It is now being looked at - lots of things wrong with it, bad photocell, oscillator, transformer buzz. Wet still very dull and wet/dry not "summing", whatever that means. It will sound very different when fixed, I suspect. H
