Re: Earthquaker Devices - Acapulco Gold [traced]
Hi, guys. I threw one of these together on the breadboard and am noticing something funky -- If I've got my guitar volume at 0 or 10, everything seems normal (no sound at 0, glorious 386 drive at 10), but with the vol anywhere in between, I get a gnarly high squeal. You can hear the guitar under the...

Re: Sunn Beta Bass preamp schematic
[quote="johnk"]I just finished building mine and I absolutely LOVE it!
John, this looks fantastic. I know there's no lack of box finishing info on fsb, but how did you get such clean engravings? It looks CNC'd.

Re: Earthquaker Devices - Acapulco Gold [traced]
An update: I picked up some 386s to experiment with this circuit. As laid out, it drives an 8 ohm Swamp Thang, but barely. Just for the hell of it, I stuck another 386 on the end of it, basically just doubling the second stage in the schematic, and it absolutely roars. Right now it's super high gain...

Re: Earthquaker Devices - Acapulco Gold [traced]
Hi, guys. I think this pedal sounds great in the clips I've heard. I've been messing around with 386 chips for a while and recently built a Noisy Cricket amp, which gets all of its half watt of oomph from a 386. With the talk of just how loud the Acapulco Gold is, I'm wondering if it will drive a ca...

Re: Univox - Superfuzz [schematic]
Hi again, guys. Any hints on how to go about adapting something for turrets? Anybody have experience doing an eyelet or turret build of a SuperFuzz? If so, maybe you could share a layout or gut shot? sadly, I think that'll be a long shot, but I'd love to see it. I think it'd get kind of complicated...

Re: Univox - Superfuzz [schematic]
Hi again, guys. I'm interested in putting together yet another SuperFuzz for myself, but this time in super-overbuilt mode, on eyelet or maybe even turret board. I've tried to adapt the schematic, the uStomp PCB layout, and Mike's stripboard layout (which I've built per the instructions, and which ...

Re: Univox - Superfuzz [schematic]
Hi, guys. I've been having a blast with my Superfuzz, since building it a little over a year ago, based on Mike's stripboard layout. It's time to build another one! I'd like to make this one with nicer components, make it a little neater inside, and customize it a bit more to my tastes. The first tw...

Re: Univox - Superfuzz [schematic]
Hi, guys. Long time lurker, first time poster. This past weekend, I built one of these from Mike's stripboard layout. This would me my fourth mostly successful pedal build. It sounds awesome, but I've got one weird issue... Whenever I turn either of the knobs down to 10% or less, the pedal cuts out ...
