Re: Colorsound - Power Boost / Overdriver

I would guess the 18v version would be cleaner due the higher swing available from the power supply.

Re: Castledine Electronics - The Wizard [traced]

I would check the Laney amplifier Iommi played through for those values. looks like he's going for a rangemaster into Laney topology on this one as stated in the title of the above video.

wedge enclosures

anyone got a line on any wedge shaped/slanted/sloped enclosures?(short in front, tall in back). it seems they're rather hard to come by these days. :cheers

Hey I'm back! Looks cool, maybe I'm missing something, but doesn't the differentiation between JFETS make adjusting more than one stage kind of pointless? It's been a while...

Re: stupid pedal tricks: the boss T bone

I'm not gonna make this too long...(plays another ten minutes). the bosstones a good sagger for sure. try the orpheum as well. for the gain boost, try bypassing the emitter R with a big cap instead. that way it won't change the bias when you kick it in. you can also adjust the lowest frequency...

Re: I'm creating a development platform for DIYers and more.

jim, that's my main point. if this is going to be done and truly become something of a new standard in effects design, this kind of limitation is absolutely unacceptable. you are basically relegating your design to be of limited use, which will NEVER become more than a secondary platform. if you do ...

Re: I'm creating a development platform for DIYers and more.

I like the idea a lot. actually was totally into it until the "100K linear". even with onboard resistors adjusting values, that's still pretty limiting. why not just have flying leads on the pots with headers and have pins in the console to connect them to? that way if another value pot i...

Re: Can hear neighbour's cell phone ringing...

the remedy for RF interference is a small series resistor and cap to ground (LPF) on the INPUT. you want to filter it out before it is amplified, not after. on the upside, you may get to spy on your neighbors phone calls.

Re: the b-17....do ya think it'll fly?

wow, you've found a transistor clipper I haven't seen yet. nice one! by the way- raising the pot will actually give you more gain, as you are dumping less signal to ground. one more thing- doesn't Devi do some stuf like this? it seems at first glance like simply adding a PNP in parallel with an NPN ...

Re: Milbert GAGA-90 Transformerless Tube Guitar Amp

a lot ofthinner brightness could be due to the fact that most of those types of amps have speaker systems with a tweeter/horn. remember, guitar speakers limit bandwidth as well.

Re: Spaceman - Gemini III

first of all, thanks for all of the hard work! looks like an interesting circuit. im just trying to wrap my head around it, but, the schematic is very hard to read with all of the "upside down" transistors and connecting lines. I would suggest flipping them, and adding symbols for your vol...
