Ok. Are they oriented like that on the vero ?
Did you check the line cut with this image ?
Something is very wrong with that sound, but it's not the voltages

I don't know. What kind of transistor did you use ? Did you check the pinout ?

Something is very wrong.
Check the resistors with a meter, all of them. Look at the vero to see if you skipped a cut or if there's a solder bridge

Re: Big Muff Ram's head low gain question [SOLVED]
Thanks for your reply, I've been doublechecking for solderbridges and resoldered any potential dead spots but so far not resulting in more gain. Now I've followed the veroboard layout as included. I also added a schematic of the Violet variant, which I know might slightly differ in some component v...

Re: Big Muff Ram's head low gain question [SOLVED]
I don't know what kind of sound you're after, but in my build i used 2n2222 hfe between 180 and 220.
It is very creamy and heavy, and it sounds much better that the others i had with higher gain transistor.
You should try

I forgot: my transistors are
Q1 = MP40B, 30hfe, 20mA L
Q2 = gt308b, 64hfe, 5mA L
Q3 = MP42 , 52hfe, 50mA L

Re: Sola Sound - Tone Bender Mark I (1965) [schematic]
I adjusted a few resistors and caps, and the Q3c voltage is like -8.05v I don't what to make of Q2C: it really depends from the voltage divider, so i tried 180k (-1,2v) and 430k (-5v); i don't know what i like more, i can't decide. Q1 is the strange one: it has very low hfe and leakage, but everythi...

Re: Sola Sound - Tone Bender Mark I (1965) [schematic]
Hi guys. Recently i was really into Doyle Bramhall II, and in his Reverb interview he talked about the Zonk Machine as a secret weapon. So i decided to build a Tone Bender MK1 just to see what it is. I didn't have fancy 60s transistors, so i used some russian ones. They say you need leakage for MK1,...

Honeyy Bee OD filtering. How does it work?
Hi guys.
I was wondering how the filtering works on the HBOD.
What C7-R7 and C8-R9 do?

Re: earthquaker devices monarch [gut shot]
mmm.. i don't know. i'm not an expert of mu amps, but if it's volume you are after you can act on the voltage divider on the output. if you want gain,personally, i'd go for the 330Ω resistor on the bs170. the point is that the eq cut a lot of signal (every tone stack does it), so we could place a 50...
