Re: Suhr - Eclipse [traced]
The fact that in the original pedal there is a specific part (it's not half unused opamp from another section of the circuit) for buffering vb makes me think that the load on the unbuffered voltage divider would lightly change the vb voltage.

Re: Suhr Eclipse [traced]
Hello everybody, I rearranged a single channel simplified schematic so now it's a lot easier to read. Tone control is definitely a James-Baxandall type, but it's ground referenced (vb referenced here, our virtual ground), in the rearranged schematic it should be clearer. I also corrected a cap value...

Re: Suhr Eclipse [traced]
Yes, it looks pretty similar.
I forgot to specify that the led in the hard clipping section is blue.

Re: Suhr Eclipse [traced]
Tracing this board is a huge PITA. Looks like Suhr either used autoroute indiscriminately or intentionally made the layout extremely intricated. As of now I traced everything apart the uC section that feeds the a,b,c control pins on the CD4053, should be correct but i hope somebody will have the pat...

Suhr - Eclipse [traced]
Hello everybody, here are some photos of the Eclipse, i desoldered some components to expose traces, I will post part values and components in the following days. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/vh346l9r9movdvo/AAD5FQKjSUyp8tjKpPjd5oz0a?dl=0 I will also post my schematic when I will have time to trace, b...

Re: Xotic - BB Preamp [traced]
Is the box connected to ground? If you are using isolated jacks try soldering a ground wire on the backside of one of the pots.

Re: Friedman BE-OD Pedal [traced]
The noise you can hear in the video mostly comes from the switching power supply. Oscillation happens when there is some kind of signal feedback that goes back into the circuit, so you have to minimize interaction between different parts of the circuit. High impedence lines are more sensible to exte...

Re: Friedman BE-OD Pedal [traced]
HI, you should keep your wires as short as possible, especially the input wire and the wires that go to the pots.

Single sided layout with pcb mount pots, board dimensions are 5.5x4.5 cm.
My suggestion for the opamp is the OP275.
Good Diy

Re: Friedman BE-OD Pedal [traced]
Single sided layout for Dirty Shirley+Friedman BeOd in a box, this layout has the best of both worlds, there are 7 pcb mounted pots so you can build a BeOD with a mid control, or a DS with a tight knob, as said before the only notable difference is R16 in my schematic (10k for BEOD, 27k for DS). I ...

I am sorry but i don't have the pedal anymore. IIRC the transistor was a Bc547C.

Re: Carl Martin DC Drive [schematic]
A couple of corrections, C13 is connected to pin 5 of NE555, and i forgot to add the pulldown resistor after the 100R resistor, which is 10k connected to ground.

Hi, traced the pedal this morning to make some modifications.
I omitted led part of the switch in the schematic.

Re: Friedman BE-OD Pedal [traced]
https://www.freestompboxes.org/download/file.php?id=30088&mode=view I built it using this schematic and i got no problem with oscillation with the 120pF cap, the pedal sounds really close to the demos using 2 x BAV99. From what i gathered this schematic should be correct, the only missing compon...

Re: Joyo PowerSupply 2 schematic [schematic]
It should work around 30khz switching frequency , bu eventually one can modify it to run on higher frequencies, i don't think it will cause any audio interferences.
Of course a classic linear power supply is better for audio, but it will need a secondary for each output.
