Re: Joyo Ultimate Drive PCB labeled as Freekish Blues Alpha
DT how about you just send the pedal to a mod or other reputable member so they can inspect and verify what you have. seems simple.

hmm. those were probably in the joyos and not in the BBEs.jupagblkxten wrote:Why is he going to all the trouble to wire up the footswitch in this pedal when he's got all those footswitch pcbs (as seen in all gutshots of the Alpha Drive)?

Re: Himmelstrutz - Fetto [gut shots + schematic] [traced]
I agree, but I was trying to find the one that would give the correct drain voltage according to the posted schematic given the original bias resistors. Earlier in this thread there were some speculation whether the original carried 2N3819s, but it doesn't look that way from the results I got. one ...

Re: Himmelstrutz - Fetto [gut shots + schematic] [traced]
most jfets won't just pop in there without either selecting the jfet to suit the drain resistor or selecting the drain resistor to suit the jfet. maybe just sub in some 20k trimmers for the drain resistors and try a variety of different jfets; all biased properly?

Re: Malekko Vibrato
It's missing the 22k clean blend resistor which makes it a vibrato, but funnily enough has a spot where it's supposed to be on the board just beside the 4558, so if you don't like the vibrato, you can put a resistor in there and get a phaser. So then that would be the Melekko Omicron Phase, I take ...

Re: Fairfield Circuitry - Four Eyes Fuzz
guillaume - i'm curious as to if the decision to make the board 4-layer was necessary for space/layout/etc. or if it was to "protect" the circuit to a degree? obviously you could have done the power/ground routing in the internal layers. Or he could've done a "ground pour" on on...

it looks nice but makes more sense the other way around as the switch is generally the first thing to fail.Hides-His-Eyes wrote:I like the arrangement; on board switch and offboard pots.

interesting... if you scroll to the bottom you can see that the company is a division of a cigar humidor business. lol

Re: Redwitch - Fuzzgod
I know I wouldn't risk it with Ges. You'd all be complaining if they were socketed, too... I sure would. I've soldered many, many germanium transistors straight to the board without having them stand off 6 inches. It's not that hard. Just don't linger on the leads with a super-hot iron and you're g...

looks like they're going for a sort of tape saturation-type effect there.
gain stage > tone control > gain stage > soft clipping/compression
similar to the clipping here, just not as soft?

Re: Stupid resistor question
I'm building a board that requires 27k resistors. I have 1% 26.7k resistors and 5% 27k resistors. Which would work better? Seems to me that the range on the 26.7k's would be 26.43 - 26.97 while the 27k's would be 25.65 - 28.35. My money is on coin flip, but I'd appreciate your input. unless you're ...

Re: phase and output mixing with a blend/loop circuit
not exactly...
the stages are passively mixed before the output buffer already - i was wondering more if it's really necessary to keep that buffer at the end?
as far as the phase goes, i'm looking for a simple way to invert the phase of one side - hopefully without adding another opamp.

phase and output mixing with a blend/loop circuit
just not getting the hits at diystomp so i figured i'd try over here. when dealing with a circuit such as the paralooper... http://moosapotamus.net/THINGS/paraloop/paralooperSCH.gif is it totally necessary to have the output buffer or will a simple passive mix section suffice? if you connect the + i...
