Re: Xotic - SL Drive

Hi, I Should of added in my above posts, that this pedal really comes into its own when using an 18v power source.

Re: Xotic - SL Drive

Hi, As I have stated I could have got it wrong. My reasoning is this, to me the tone cut (treble) cct comprises tone pot(50KC) and C12, R18 a variable low pass filter that is permanently fixed. The C11, R19 is an additional HF cut via sw3. If this switched network was after the Tone pot then its ope...

Re: Xotic - SL Drive

I did a reverse on my sl a couple of years ago. I see some differences. R19 (270 OHM) IN SERIES WITH THE H/MID CUT SWITCH AND C11. I measured C11 as 100nF. C12 and R18 were placed before the tone pot just after R17. I believed the IC was an NE5532, BASED ON THE CURRENT DRAW OF THE PEDAL. Hay !! I co...

Bugg, I mailed you from this board.....maybe I should of PMd you. Any who you have it now, and yes!!!!! no doubt it has mistakes, I look forward to your completed schemo. Attached is a shootout of the the pedal I had being compared to the OCD. Cheers John https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MO0T85Kb5Tc

Re: Mad Professor - Simble [traced]

Hi, I offered this to Bugg but got no reply. Its only a rough drawing of a unit I had for a brief period some years ago. Some weird stuff going on...........but it is a Zen derivative. Gooped to blazes................ The person sanding the IC had an off day, I could still make out the IC code if it...

Re: Kingsley Page Gutshots [traced]

Hi,
First photo shows, at the extreme right hand end a 10Meg ohm to a ground.
The top end has the input coax connected, and most probably a 33K ohm resistor going up to the first grid.
This is NOT a true bypass design as the input to the tube is across the signal path at all times.

Re: Lovepedal Super Six Stevie Mod [traced]

Hi, I'm confused now.................the photo shows an IC and it has been suggested that it is in fact a Timmy variant, TSG boards seems quite different. Can someone enlighten me. As far as the Photo goes, I see that at least one of the 3K3 resistors is missing and another on the right hand side, S...

Re: Hermida Audio - Zendrive [ goop-alarm ] [traced]

Alf, You could always just change the input cap to say the 10nF value, break the link from pins 6-7 on the op-amp and add the 4k7 (or 3k3 in Barbers schemo) between pin 6 and V/2, add say a 20k trim pot with the 100nF (82nF in Barbers schemo-I don't have that value) across it between pins 6 and 7 an...

Alf,
Here it is in gif form.
Forgot to add to schemo teh 10Mohm ground ref resistors between the input caps and ground.

Alf,
This is the current schemo.
No mid, I'm sure there is still room for improvement, there are much greater minds than mine on this Forum.
Cheers

Re: Hermida Audio - Zendrive [ goop-alarm ] [traced]

Alf, Looks as if I will have to try a different IC and FETS I will need to purchase them. Attached is the MADBEAN Sparkplug pedal which he says is derived from the Barber Tonepump. It is on his site. The Koi values are in this thread back a few pages as is the post suggesting lowering the input cap ...

Re: Hermida Audio - Zendrive [ goop-alarm ] [traced]

Hi again, Played with the pedal over the last few days and I believe I have a more refined Zen version more polite and lets me hear more of the natural Guitar. (Just like the G2D Creamtone does) I like the additional bass control and input select switch as this allows you to taylor the pedal to suit...

Re: Hermida Audio - Zendrive [ goop-alarm ] [traced]

Hi, After the Xmas pud had been digested, and all things Xmas was generally over I decided to revisit a couple of OD pedals. The first being the G2D creamtone clone I had built several years ago. I still like its sound especially with the Strat, so I left it aline. My attention then turned to my Zen...

Re: Mad Professor Simble [traced]

Hi,
Just a thought................could that transistor and diodes etc be part of the LED control cct concidering there is only a DPDT stomp switch fitted.
This may also explain the latency with the LED when switcihed.

Re: Dumbloid [traced]

Hi,
Tried the small signal diodes they work, but still prefer the sound of power diodes. I have now increased the series resistor to 22K, and kept the back to back LEDs in the second stage.

Now back to my day job.

Re: Dumbloid [traced]

Me again, Tried zeners (3V6) with series resistor, didn't like it as much as the power diodes. Tried 5 X diodes with 10K series resistor, but I prefered the 4 X diode with 15K resistor, very subjective. If you make it too smooth and compressed then you are in danger of re inventing the TS all over a...
