Re: Ibanez SD9M Sonic Distortion Mod [schematic]

This is also something that I am interested in. I was getting ready to order parts to use the SD9 PCB that I have had laying around for yrs and ran across the new version on the web. From the videos it appears the high gain setting is the normal SD9 setting, but to my ear the normal old school SD9 i...

Re: Black Arts Toneworks - Pharaoh [traced]

those are the resistor values I came up with too..... I found the 10k's for power and the 6.2k's between stages to be suprising... This is the first muff I have ever seen with values that low in either of those positions..........

Re: Catalinbread Manx Loaghtan [guts] [traced]

there seems to be an error on the schematic.... R7 & R12 should be 100k.... I was looking at the scheme and thought the 470K values looked really odd on this...most muffs use 82-100K here..(100k being most optimal)..looked at the pics and sure enough they are 100k- Brown-Black-Yellow..... the 47...

Re: Fuzzhugger - Algal Bloom [gut shot] [traced]

so we have determined this is a Electra Distortion into a Bazz Fuss.... But what are all the pots actually controling in the circuit?... obviously the Starve is probably just a 5K pot as a variable resistor on V+..... From the pic it looks like the Bloom pot is just what would be the volume pot of t...

Re: Sola Sound - Supa Tonebender: four transistor version

It almost sounds like it has clean signal mixed in yeah, that´s really peculiar and i love it with bass guitar. and works perfectly ok with active basses. cheers, lohstah this comes from not having clipping diodes on the first gain stage (Q2).... when u remove these diodes there is obviously no cli...

I do agree that some things like a slow blues progression in A has been copied endlessly and harmlessly. Perhaps some pedal issues are the same. I just gave the layout a quick run thru and it seemed correct per the scheme, to my unprofessional eye.... I will give it another look this weekend when I actually have time to spend with it...I'm at work now :(

I am amped to put this thing together in the near future :applause:

Re: Catalinbread - Hyper Pak [traced]

I built this using ShortScaleMike's Vero Layout... works perfectly, using it to boost the overdrive channel of an old american made Peavey Classic 30, setting the gain on the amp on 3-4 and hitting it with this at about 2/3 gain and gives a great Weezer Blue album sound...... clean up with the volum...
