Rare ICs, MN BDD, Metal Can Op-amps + More
For sale I have a lot of rare ICs. Lots of hard to find MN chips for all your delay and modulation effects (CE-1, DMM, Aquapuss, DM-2 etc.) as well as some neat old metal can op-amps (Rat, Dyna-comp, Ross Compressor etc.). All chips are NOS and genuine!!! MN3001 x3 MN3002 x7 MN3205 x3 MN3207 x4 MN31...

Re: FS: Guvnor Clone
$75 on the Guvnor. Come on make some offers, I need some speaker money!
The pedal is quite a versatile beast. Three band EQ and a clipping diode selector switch.

Sounds pretty lame imo.
You could get a very similar tone with BJTs.
Props to his build quality and construction technique.

Hate to follow a question with another question....
But, does anyone know the current draw of the GGG reverb?

Re: Little help repairing a Carvin Legacy ??
The difference between 50W and 100W is a mere 3dB.
The 100W will not be much louder, stick with it. The 100W will have increased bandwidth and will have more underlying grit, I'd definitely go for the 100W version. 100Ws are special amps!

Re: Little help repairing a Carvin Legacy ??
I hate amps with PCB mounted output tubes. Just way too many things to go wrong. Those big cerment power resistors should be 1K if your using EL34s (which the amp was designed for :slap: ). Personally if it was me I'd get some nice chassis mounted octal sockets and rewire/redone the entire output se...

Re: Subdecay - Liquid Sunshine [traced]
I noticed it was gone as well. I went hunting for it the other day, was looking at how you used global negative feedback in the design. Couldn't find an online copy anywhere.

Re: ZH Boost - subminiature tube booster
Why do you have the screen at a higher potential than the plate? I always thought that was a no no.
Personally Id stick with the 317. It's more durable and precise than a resistor.

Could we get some more photos so we could maybe "dissect" this one a bit? Probably a basic pre-amp with some neat switching/voicing options but it would be cool to know exactly what is happening...

Re: How to choose an output transformer?
With that xformer your limited to single ended designs though. It does not have a centre tap. Still can do cool SE stuff, parallel single ended maybe... You could check out the Hammond 125B. It is a little OT rated at 5W. It has the ability to have about 8 different primary impedance options, lots o...

Re: How to choose an output transformer?
OT selection has to do with output power and primary impedance matching I believe. There is probably more but I concern myself with these more than anything. Obviously your OT needs to handle the power your output tubes produce. The output power a single tube can produce is listed in it's data sheet...

Thanks guys!
Sorry no soundclips. I literally finished the amp up days before I had to leave to go off to university. No the 50W amp did not travel with me to my dorm room . All I got is a little modded Valve Jr.
I will get some clips at a later date though.
