"It MUST be able to run on batteries"
Those AA's must ensure that the pedal lies firmly on the floor, considering the weight.
And whats the deal with the standby switch?
Nice pics, thank you! How does it sound?

Re: 2 p90's to form a humbucker..?
It's alive! Tried it yesterday and i'm not disappointed, this thing definitely has some potential, there's just some adjustment that has to be done. Once i had got it in there and the strings were back on there was no turning back. Wired it up for standard series humbucking and plugged it in. And it...

Re: eighty seven percent - De Stijl [documentation]
Sorry to revive a really old topic, but this looks cool. I'd like to do a vero. I just can't tell from this schematic whether C2 and C3 touch R6, or if that's just paths crossing over each other. I'm assuming logically the caps have to connect to R6 to function as I assume they do. But I'm an idiot...

Re: 2 p90's to form a humbucker..?
No. If both windings are identical, you have to do it like this: OUTPUT (+) --> [winding 1 (+) --> winding 1 (-)] --> [winding 2 (-) --> winding 2 (+)] --> GND This way the RF noise is cancelled, but the string sound is doubled. Ah, yes, what was i thinking :) It's a bit confusing before you really...

Re: 2 p90's to form a humbucker..?
Yeah i took the covers off today and the magnet pieces of the different pickups were repelling when i tried to put them together. But it was quite easy to take the baseplate off of one of them and flip the magnets around, just had to clean off some glue. Now they stick beautifully together :applause...

2 p90's to form a humbucker..?
As the topic says, what do you think? I saw this other thread about using two SC's, and i thought it would be interesting to do the same thing with a couple of soapbars i've got laying around :hmmm: They're nothing fancy, got them from a friend who had switched them to HB's in a cheapish guitar, so ...

Re: Blend Circuit on BB preamp
Here is a mixer that i have planned to use in another project, i don't know if this actually works satisfactory, it's only been simulated yet but you can try it out if you want. Also the values shown probably has to be tinkered with in order to achieve somewhat balanced levels between the dry and we...

Re: Floor based switcher
You can build a switcher just using relays, with no programming. I built a simple 4-way unit where, when a relay is activated by a footswitch, spare contacts on that relay disconnect any previously-connected relay. Any bigger than four ways and you start to run out of spare relay contacts (though y...

Re: New DIY delay with modulation.
Ok thanks for the info. Maybe I should hook my function generator up to all sorts of pins and see what it does  Edit: An oscillator that i've been using a couple of times is the one that bajaman uses in his trembulator, try it out: https://s197.photobucket.com/user/bajaman002/media/BajaTrembul...

Re: New DIY delay with modulation.
Looks like a well thought out design. Im a little curious about how you have inserted the modulation signal on pin 2 of the 2399.. if i remember it correctly this is the Vref of the unit, right? Have not seen that method of doing it before. Is it your idea or have you been inspired by another design...

Re: Orange Dark Terror Schem!
Hey DesertCruiser, I made a log in to this site specifically to thank you for posting this schematic. I loved the DT when I played it but not enough to drop the cash... so I built the preamp into a pedal box. I used the whole front end, the output is taken from the junction of R19 and R20. Pictures...

Re: Flipmode fuzz
Looks interesting.. never tried to flip trannies like that. I bet that bass control before the fuzz circuit is kind of usefull to keep things from getting muddy. How about the 8n3 cap? Is that value critical or is it ok to round off to 8n2?

Re: Replacing Dr Z Tonestack with Fender?
What do you think about cutting out the Dr Z tonestack and putting in the Deluxe Reverb Tonestack? Well it really is'nt that simple, considering that the tone stack from the Deluxe was designed to be driven by a triode stage with an approximated output impedande of ca 40k and that the EF86 has an o...

Please excuse me for bringing this old thread up again, but when I was going to try to cut the feedback loop in the PA the other day I took another close look at the circuit board and found some flaws in the schematic posted above. Once upon a time a 200 Watts Fender amp named "Studiobass" had a tube graphic EQ. This is the link to see the schematic: http://johnkvintageguitars.homestead.com/studiobass.gif The drawback with this design is that uses potentiometers with center tap... Cheers, Jose Yea I've seen almost t...

nice eq! I have thougt about using a four band eq in my next amp project with LC based hi- and lo-mid controls. Shouldn't be too hard to build something like this using only two bands and tubes right?

Re: Foxx - Tone Machine [schematic]
Hey, I just came up with a cool and really simple mod (bet somebody already done it) that let's you enable a "super gain" mode when the octave is disabled. You just switch the loose end of the cap at the emitter of the 2nd trannie down to eart to let it act like a bypass capacitor instead ...
