Re: Boss BF2 mods
Revisiting this. Anyone found a way to address the effected volume?
I was also curious if there is a way to add a tone control? I find the effect is bright.

Re: Pro Co FATRAT [schematic]
Thanks for the update. That previous and per the FR layout that the filter 1 was going in series into the resistor and then cap and not the other way around would make no difference? Also, I see the revision you made: thank you! Having said that, it looks like SW2 for the clipping is to go to ground...

Re: Pro Co FATRAT [schematic]
It was actually dirtboxlayouts. Here is the link to the layout. I noticed from tracing my FR that the distortion control locations are swapped. Here are some pics of my stock FR - I got it new online. EDIT* It looks like R8 and C9 were reversed on the layout I attached. I swapped them and it sounds ...

Re: Pro Co FATRAT [schematic]
I have a FatRat and the fat cap is not a 6.8uf but a 1uf. Are folks sure the schematic is correct? I built a clone using the layout from tagboardeffects and it doesn't sound anything like my stock Fatrat.

KMA Horizon PhaserNo power: what diode is this?
Got it from someone that said they used the wrong power supply. What is the label on D6? Is it 5A9D?

Boss DD-2 no power; keeps blowing D-6
I bought some 12v 1W diodes. I've repaired these in the past where this was the issue and is in the repair notes linked below as a common symptom of the no power issue. I replace the diode and I get no power and the PCB at D-6 gets extremely hot. I had to remove part of the trace as it came up. Anyo...

Re: Boss - BD-2 Blues Driver [schematic]
So I’m still confused from what has been said by Keeley. Is C100 supposed to be completely removed and it’s just either the .033 or .068 on a switch?
I left C100 in and it’s too bassy

Re: Boss - BD-2 Blues Driver [schematic]
Ok, so two of the original 1SS133 stay in place? I see it says "jumper D9" so I'm assuming D10 was the one that had the 4002. Also, for the C100 cap and additional caps. Is c100 supposed to be left in place and then the switch two the two caps is added? or the .033 replaced the C100 cap an...

Re: Taming the Peavey "Nasties"
Old thread resurrection. I have a VTM 120 - which choke from MM would work in the 120? I see they sell one for the 5150, Butcher and VTM 60. These amps all have nearly the exact same power amp and power supply. A choke intended for a Butcher would probably be a perfect fit. They probably spec the s...

Re: Boss BF2 mods
Does anyone know of an effective way to reduce the overall volume of the circuit? I tried making the 100k output resistor variable - which works - but it affects the bypass volume as well. From the OP post, the R29 pot addition won't fix the volume boost. I like the way the flanger is currently mixe...

Has anyone isolated the boost mode in a schematic?
I'd really like to build just the boost as that is my favorite mode.

reading SMD capacitors in a circuit - testing value
I'm getting ready to attempt a trace of a Red Witch Pentavocal tremolo. Its all SMD components. The resistors have the numbers so I'm able to get their values from their codes - I also tested them and got readings close, if not on to their written specs, but the capacitors have no values written on ...
