Re: Looper grounds

This is sometimes a hot button topic with DIY (and commercial) designs. In general, it's best to tie to the chassis in a star, with each circuit block coming to it. If your jacks are isolated (only plastic touches chassis) you can tie any of those to grounds to chassis at one point, like a bus with ...

Re: Just a quick question.

It would probably be best to see a schematic of the circuit in question. Regardless, it seems like you're referring to caps that are axial, but still polarized, or electrolytic. If they're bigger than 1uF, it's even more likely that they're electrolytic.

Re: Catalinbread - Galileo Mk2 [traced]

Can't find MPF4393 anywhere... do you know a match substitute for it? Yeah I'd make a guess and say Catalinbread has them all. You could try emailing them actually. I remember the lead guy from Catalinbread (Brian? that's Subdecay..) posting here and being into DIY. Alternatively, a close miss migh...

Re: Question concerning building preamps

Hi, and welcome! There are lots of related resources here and off-site that may be useful to you. Do some research and then you can decide how exactly you want to build your preamp: if you want to use it as a real preamp driving a power amp, or in a pedal form. Here's an example of the latter: https...

Hello! Welcome to the freestompboxes forum! You probably won't get random help on a project if interest of the rest of the forum is low. Thankfully, you have the search function in the top right corner of the page at your disposal! A preliminary search yields: https://www.freestompboxes.org/search.p...

Try increasing the value of both of the caps across the collector-base of the two switching transistors.

Plug into to and play it!

If you don't like it, pull the 15k feedback resistor and see what happens.

Re: 2N2222A LED Flasher question

Perhaps someone needs to double check my thoughts, but adding a 1k (EDIT: or smaller, if you prefer) resistor to the anode of your LED would limit the current and also raise the voltage at the anode above ground. This would ensure a definite LED off status, while the current design may only vary the...

Re: MI Audio Blue Boy Deluxe Opamp Swap

I'm afraid you won't find much help with an endeavor such as this. Most forum-ites here, myself included would tell you swapping op amps is not the way to go to change sound characteristics. There is not much to discuss beyond signal-to-noise, bandwidth (not really, negligible with audible frequenci...

Just looking through MS Word, the only font that really sticks out to me is Bauhaus 93. The "W", "L", and "s" match pretty closely. It's definitely a bold/semi-bold font.

1mm long components! Whappen if you sneeze? The same could be said about through hole components and say.. bumping your work table. The "fear" of surface mount technology is often a fear of the unknown. I think if some would try it, they'd like it and even find advantages to (edit: over) ...

Vibrolux-ish Build

Hello everyone, I've been wanting to build a 6L6 amp for some time now and I've decided on the AB763 (Vibro-verb/lux) circuit. I thought I might go for a simplified circuit, though, for money and simplicity's sake. Anyways, my idea was to remove the Normal channel and the tremolo circuit. My guess w...
