Re: 2020 forum updates - work in progress [RESOLVED]
Hello modman, great job on the improvements and updates so far! If possible, I have a little request for one of the next sets of updates. Do you think that the time that is allowed to make changes to a post (edit a typo, change the title, replace attachments, etc.) could be extended a bit? seconded...

Re: Triton Delay - Adding the "Glide" from EchoCzar to PT239 [documentation]
so how does it actually work? On the echoczar this "slide" is using the effect that the PLL is locking onto the voltage going into pin 9 and adjusting its clock frequency, why does it work here?

you could probably trace it from the gutshot in this reverb listing

Re: Function f(x) - Gate Crasher
Ah, I figured R1 could be the pulldown, because the signal has to come from the relay to go to the 4049. C1 might also go to gnd at the input. These are just guesses, trying to match component values to a gutshot. The caps and resistors on the bottom left might also not be part of the switching, or ...

Re: Function f(x) - Gate Crasher
I assumed they used one in the first feedback section instead of the drive control (= drive on full) but CJ clarified they used the 330k instead. There is no control of the input gain directly, correct. It's fixed gain with the feedback resistor set to 330K. So we have one pulldown 1M and have the o...

Re: Function f(x) - Gate Crasher
I'm pretty sure the 100R connects to the gate control to stop oscillations on 0. You can see it on the pcb. gate control.JPG So I'm thinking the input resistor is the 10k under the 4049 and the 330k goes in the feedback path so swapped from my first guess. I also think they might be doing it with th...

Re: Function f(x) - Gate Crasher
so there is no "drive" control, but also no leftover 1M, if one of the is used as a pulldown (maybe not)

So what's that 10K pot in the escobedo section that I labelled "TXT?" doing?

Re: Function f(x) - Gate Crasher
Guesstimate circuit with the part values of the gutshot.
I omitted power section (the big polarized caps at the top, 100R and diode, I'm guessing) and the relay circuit.- 01 May 2020, 08:51

Re: Function f(x) - Gate Crasher
so after some research and listening to youtube clips of this pedal i found this post by parasit studios regarding a square wave fuzz using a CMOS hex inverter with a red llama like input section and two more stages configured as a schmitt trigger. Looking at the cap values this might be the ticket ...

Function f(x) - Gate Crasher
function f(x) has put a gutshot pic of their gate crasher on insta. Not a lot going on, might be a reasonable "guesstimate trace" possible and maybe even CJ chimes in to help. The lower part seems to be for the relay bypass switching and 10F320 PIC and not really relevant to the circuit it...

Re: Bearfoot - Candy Apple Fuzz [traced]
When you look at the right place the solution might be simple! I think the tone control is the same as in Artic White fuzz, at least the values are the same. But I also think the AWF schematic is wrong and R12 is shorted out. The connection should be between lug 1 and 2 and not 2 and R12 as in orig...

Re: Hudson Electronic Broadcast [traced]
The value can be either 25 or 100k - probably won’t make much difference. I made one, but can’t remember what I put in it. Most likely the same as the 24v version as I prefer it over the 9v. due to the LC filter that the volume pot and the transformer create, there will probably be a difference in ...

Re: 1981 Inventions DRV [traced]
Sounds much better (to me) when doubling the 220nf cap to 440nf or 470nf. More girth, more low end, better range of the cut knob.

Re: Hudson Electronic Broadcast [traced]
So i got my dual hudson in the post today Here are images of the top and underside of the board. If anyone wants to trace i will do my best to measure the parts or give readings etc. maybe teddeeh can be so kind as to measure (or unscrew) the pots? I thought the second switch just changes the pot b...

7660s will work but you have to jumper pins 1 and 8 to geht the oscillator frequency out of the audible range.
