Charge Pump Explanation?
Hey so I've never dug into charge pumps at all and couldn't really find a good explanation on the real purpose behind them. So question are; What are the uses? Benefits? Is it simple to run positive ground pedals from a negative ground supply? Anyways haha any input is fantastic! Thanks!

Re: Excessive popping!!!!
well i fixed it! the tant was still good but when i was testing around that area i noticed one of my resistors (R13) wasn't connected to the tant. i accidentally cut the strip on the board in the wrong spot. so it was bleeding the DC from the transistor into my output! gosh stupid mistake but hey i ...

Re: Excessive popping!!!!
im wondering maybe if i fried my tant cap a little so now its passing DC. Are they known to be sensitive? Cause i measured about 4v DC on the negative side of the tant and there shouldnt be any DC signal that close to the output. Does this sound like a good place to swap a new part in? Im thinking t...

Re: Ruby Amp Build Trouble
did you double check all you solder joints and make sure theres not too much solder thats connecting other things together? and you could check that all the cuts you make in the strips on your board (a.k.a. the little red marks) make sure there not still making a connecting. I thing the best thing i...

Excessive popping!!!!
i just built an OCD pedal and for the life of me can not get rid of the stupid pop when switching on and off! ive tried putting bleeders on the last caps and nothing changed. took the led circuit out and nothing changed. the pop is controllable by the volume knob. so when the pedal is tuned down the...

Re: Mix Knob
Awesome!! Thanks for the info! I appreciate it!! :D also while I'm here! Have you ever herd of a blend circuit where both signals are full in the middle then one fades out as its turned? I've seen it in some more high end bases for pick-up blend. Not sure if it would be desirable in a pedal. Because...
