From the JMI pics, it appears that Q1's collector resistor is 56K and the trimmer is adjusting the DC feedback from Q2's emitter into the base of Q1?

Dunlop gut shots here. Judge for yourself whether the pot wire is in the wrong place on the PCB. It does appear to have the drive pot on the other side of the cap from the expected position, perhaps that's what he meant. Also looks like Q1 is backwards, like the old schems.

Transistors are BC549B (Q1) and 2N3906 (Q2 & Q3). Transformer is 3.6:1+1. It's not mine, but I might be able to get another look at it sometime if there are questions.
