Re: Warhead - Univibe project for the peoples [documentation]

Here's a Trem mod, from a partial schematic I have of the Psychedelic Machine. There are two extra caps and two extra resistors: 68nF and 1uF, 47k and 100k. Break the connection between the 15nF cap and the base of Q4, and replace the SPDT toggle with a 2P3T switch (I use a rotary switch for this). ...

Re: Matamp GT/C7 schematics

_ the Attack control is an improved "presece" control: it gives a kind of cut when the wiper is close to the global negative feedback resistor, and boost when the wiper is on the other side. Again, smart.
That's the same presence circuit used in late '60s Hiwatt and Sound City amps. 8)

They have plated through holes - must be professionally made. The finish is hot air levelled tin lead, the cheapest metallic finish for a PCB.

Re: WEM, Watkins, Rush - Pepbox, Rush Pep Box [schematic]

I've just built this with a pair of nondescript transistors, ~100hfe and 200uA leakage. I used 47K for the fuzz pot and 470K for the volume. It works and has plenty of output. The tone is a bit thin for me and it needs some mods to make it more usable. It cuts out with the fuzz at minimum and gets g...

Re: Silicon Tone Bender

^WHERE did he say mkii???? I believe he is referring to the Jumbo/MKIII SILICON TONEBENDER relased under Macari He didn't have to. The circuits posted in this thread bear more relation to the MKII topology than to the Jumbo or Supa, both of which were knock offs of the Big Muff. The fuzz and tone c...

Re: Silicon Tone Bender

This makes no sense... you're describing a Tone Bender that never was. There was no MkII with a simple treble cut tone control and no MkII type circuits were made on PCBs anyway. MkIIIs onwards were PCB, but they bear no relation to your schematic, even as a point of origin. Can you elaborate on whi...

Re: Fulltone - Soul Bender

If the Soul Bender is anything like the Tonebender Mk 2 Professional, the voltage on Q3 should be 4.5Volts,the voltage on the collector of Q2 should be at least 0.6Volts,and the voltage on the collector of Q1 should be at least 8Volts.... :) No, nothing like it, and Electric Warrior has already poin...

Re: WEM, Watkins, Rush - Pepbox, Rush Pep Box [schematic]

From the JMI pics, it appears that Q1's collector resistor is 56K and the trimmer is adjusting the DC feedback from Q2's emitter into the base of Q1?

Re: Roger Mayer - Octavia [schematic]

Dunlop gut shots here. Judge for yourself whether the pot wire is in the wrong place on the PCB. It does appear to have the drive pot on the other side of the cap from the expected position, perhaps that's what he meant. Also looks like Q1 is backwards, like the old schems.

Dunlop - Octavio

Transistors are BC549B (Q1) and 2N3906 (Q2 & Q3). Transformer is 3.6:1+1. It's not mine, but I might be able to get another look at it sometime if there are questions.

Those are easy to replace, but they're not cheap! Link.

Of course, he might realise it's been tampered with when he opens it up and finds it de-gooped.

Very interesting. Does Dave (DAM) do the work for Hurst? Or does Dave own the Sola Sound/Hurst name? I don't think there's any connection, I just found a thread on there about the Hurst reissue. http://dam.10.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=161 The layout and parts values in the pictures match the 60's...
