Re: Ibanez JD9 Jet Driver [schematic]
The blank space in the middle of the 4 knobs is begging for a switch or another pot. I'm thinking of adding bass boost with a capacitor on a mini toggle across the 0047uf cap (in the OP's picture it's the silver cap in the middle of the board above IC on the right). Will that work?

Re: Boss - FZ-3 ( Fuzz ) [schematic]
So...I just asked the google how a transistor works (there's an idea). I'm thinking step 5 should read like this: "Solder a jumper between the collector and emitter connection holes (the outer holes) of the removed transistor." I will try this tonight instead and let you know how it goes. -J

Re: Boss - FZ-3 ( Fuzz ) [schematic]
Let me take another crack at explaining my confusion using the instructions referenced on the previous page. I have successfully built several byoc kits and modded a few pedals using Indyguitarist's instructions. I am still a novice and unable to completely interpret a schematic, 1. R22 and R23 are ...

Re: Boss - FZ-3 ( Fuzz ) [schematic]
Removing c9 helped some but the fuzz still sounds choked. Tried to remove r18 and mess with q6 but couldn't figure out what to connect jumper to; total signal loss so I put them back. Is it possible to open the eq and spread the fuzz/clipping across the bass mids and treble instead of just the mids?...

Re: Ibanez - Bottom Booster 9 [schematic]
I can see how the drive control could aide in adding some filth to a dirty amp but I run my amps clean. Any suggestions on where to start modding for a more pleasant drive sound?

Re: Seymour Duncan Lava box [schematic]
What could I change to add more gain and/or smooth out the drive?

Re: Ibanez - Bottom Booster 9 [schematic]
Is this pedal a clone of something? Is it a reissue?
The gain control introduces splattery overdrive. Is there a way to mod it for a more useable overdrive or eliminate the fizz?
Is there a way to introduced compression and make the gain knob control the comp?

Re: Voodoo Lab - Micro Vibe [schematic]
Is it possible to mod this pedal so that it is capable of "zero" speed? The Fulltone Deja Vibe is capable of this at the lowest speed setting. Any ideas?

Re: Visual Sound - Open Road [schematic]
I bought an ODR-1 and ab'd it against my Open Road and I'm confident saying that the Open Road is a clone of the Nobels ODR-1 . In light of that I'm going to abandon my effort to trace the OR circuit since its such a PITA due to the SMD. There are slight differences in bass response and the knobs be...

Re: Visual Sound - Open Road [schematic]
This is part of the trace starting with the power plug. Some of the traces are really hard to see and some of the components do not have values so I did my best. Sorry if it doesn't make sense. Let me know if this is even going to be worthwhile and if so I will post more soon.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Visual Sound - Open Road [schematic]
I know we already have some pics. I tweaked these so the traces would show better. Still working on the trace. I've been doing some digging and I'm leaning more toward this being an ODR clone. This speculation is based on the description of the circuit, the fact that the odr is out of production and...

Re: Visual Sound - Open Road [schematic]
So I am working on a trace now and comparing the board to my Son of Hyde pedal. I figured I take a break and try to generate some buzz around this thing. And since everyone else is speculation I'm gonna throw my 2 cents in. I am new at this so bear with me. It seems that the 2 large IC chips are par...

Re: Visual Sound - Open Road [schematic]
Can anyone say with certainty what design this pedal is actually based off of? I have scoured the www and can't find any data to back up the claims that it is a modded 808, OCD, Klon etc. I'm not really interested in hearsay or meaningless quotes from VS sales adds. Has anyone actually traced the bo...

EHX Nano Double Muff master volume mod
I recently got a Double Muff and I love the way it sounds in double mode with both muff dials on full but it's so increible loud that i have to use a volume pedal to tame the beast. Is there a way to ad a resistor at the out jack to lower the output but not the overdrive? If so what value and where ...

Re: Danelectro - CO-1 Cool Cat Drive (V2)
So I have 2 of these pedals. I bought one as a back-up after I had a CTO-1 fail on me. After looking at the first set of pictures in the thread and noting that the board says CO-2 I wanted to find out if the boards in both of mine were identical. They are not. The first one I purchased is identical ...

Not modded.
I have never created a schematic and don't really know the appropriate symbols for everything but i will give it a shot. What did you mean when you said "use google for the std."?

Re: Danelectro - CO-1 Cool Cat Drive (V2)
Does this work? Note there is a small scrape on the PCB next to C15 and the orange one laying on it's side is a .33 and covers up R17 and R18.

Re: Danelectro - CO-1 Cool Cat Drive (V2)
I really like this pedal and I'm trying to figure out if it is a clone or a modded clone of a higher end pedal. I don't really buy the hype that it's a mod of the V1 or an OCD because they sound so different. The V2 can get into fuzz territory and despite all my best efforts I cannot get a V1 or OCD...
