Re: Kingtone - Duellist

I'm not a huge fan of board-mounted footswitches for production pedals, but otherwise this one looks like a pretty tight build.

Is it just me, or are the input/output jacks not exactly aligned?

Re: Triton Delay - Adding the "Glide" from EchoCzar to PT2399

Yep. Basically it just uses the R/C filter as a "bleed off" of current from pin 6. The time it takes to switch from one to the other is a function of the frequency of the R/C filter.

Re: 2020 forum updates - work in progress

First of all, great job on the upgrade! It's sooooo much faster. :thumbsup Hello modman, great job on the improvements and updates so far! If possible, I have a little request for one of the next sets of updates. Do you think that the time that is allowed to make changes to a post (edit a typo, chan...

You painted and labeled before drilling?
Yep! The purple one is UV printed. The other one I laser etched. It’s easier to etch or print first. At least for me.

Re: Function f(x) - Gate Crasher

Ah, I figured R1 could be the pulldown, because the signal has to come from the relay to go to the 4049. C1 might also go to gnd at the input. Correct on both. What you have drawn is almost exactly right. The few variances won't make a difference in functionality, but might change tone slightly. Do...

Re: Function f(x) - Gate Crasher

Blend? Dials the in the amount of octave Correct. so there is no "drive" control, but also no leftover 1M, if one of the is used as a pulldown (maybe not) There is no control of the input gain directly, correct. It's fixed gain with the feedback resistor set to 330K. There is a 1M pulldow...

Re: Function f(x) - Gate Crasher

Not a bad guess! You've got two square wave shapers in there, however. Only one is necessary. So either keep the 4049 setup as is and get rid of the first XOR gate, or keep both XOR gates as drawn and get rid of the second and third inverters. You'll get the same result (more or less) with...

I'm a big fan of OshPark, but have you ordered through JLC PCB? The quality is quite good and it's insanely cheap (even with expedited shipping it's cheaper than OshPark).

If it's OK with you I'll put the KiCAD files on Github. This project is 100% free/open source, so do as you want with it. :thumbsup With that in mind, how would you like to be credited? Your schem just says "@function_fx"... You can use "culturejam / @function_fx" if you like. I also have a questio...

Triton Delay - Adding the "Glide" from EchoCzar to PT2399

Did this one a while back but thought I'd share here. I took the basic bones of the Deep Blue Delay (changed some filtering values), added a variable LPF on the delay output (via trimmer/cap), added a second Delay Time control with a slow transition when switching between Time 1 and Time 2. It works...

Function f(x) - Clusterfuzz Micro

Same circuit as the original Clusterfuzz with the following exceptions: 1) Filter switch is gone and the filter is the higher cutoff frequency of the two low-pass options from the original 2) Clipping diode selection is limited to: a) MosFET, b) silicon, c) diode lift 3) Standard clicky 3PDT bypass ...

You could do two dual-gang pots, which give you two Speed controls, but all four would be controlled.

That's pretty awesome, dude. It's crazy, because I was just working on trying to figure out a way to do create pseduo-random modulation for a PT2399. I didn't even know you could do that with a 40106. My idea is to use a LDR/LED driven by a micro-controller. I really want it to just sort o...

California Amps - SET5 Head - Schematic

This is a cheap little 5W chinese head I picked up in 2018. It was $99 shipped! The seller was even nice enough to send me the factory schematic on request. :D (attached) Here's the specs: • 5 watts via 1x EL84 and 1x 12AX7 (Chinese tubes, of course) • Treble, Bass, and Volume controls • 1W and 0.1W...
