Re: HH 5-Way Switch 1 Vol 2 Tone Specific Wiring

I don't know if that info for wire colors on GFS PUs is accurate. You can check it for your self. Here's a good video explaining how to identify pickup wires and polarities.

Re: HH 5-Way Switch 1 Vol 2 Tone Specific Wiring

That's why I've asked you what kind of HB you are using. All HBs are not same. You can have split with the super switch that you already have, the problem is that some combinations are achievable, some not. The diagram above is for 4 (5 if you count the shield) wire humbuckers. But 4 wires where coi...

Re: HH 5-Way Switch 1 Vol 2 Tone Specific Wiring

If I'm not wrong, this should work. But it's one vol, one tone. It's not tested. I hope I didn't miss something, and made an error. The switch is shown at position 1.

Re: HH 5-Way Switch 1 Vol 2 Tone Specific Wiring

I tried, but without success. I'm short on time, but I think If you add a pot with push/pull for neck tone It will be achievable. On the other hand there are Ibanez models which are wired the same as you want but with inner coils active, so maybe there's a way. But they are with one vol, one tone. O...

Re: HH 5-Way Switch 1 Vol 2 Tone Specific Wiring

I guess it's the same switch, the numbering is different on this one, but it is the same. 4 pole 5 way switch.

I guess the switching you want to achieve will look like this.

Can you provide an info how does the switch inner connections are ? Are they like on the diagram bellow?

I'll check later, I'm too busy now, but if I'm not wrong it's done because when powered on, pedal is on, with this mod, it will be off - bypass.

R1 = R101
R6 = R106
R8 = R108
R27 = R127
C2 = C102

Re: Question on DIY pickup winding. Single String/One Magnet.

Do all pickups have same magnet orientation and winding direction, same amount of turns ?

Re: Question on DIY pickup winding. Single String/One Magnet.

I want to make a switch that can combine the E/A string pickups together and the D/G pickup together so only two signals are going out. I know things get tricky when you're merging two pickups together, so I'm curious what the best way to approach this is. Currently I just have a DPDT switch. Can y...

I'm not familiar with this subject. So the marking should be colored dot? It make sense, it's much easier to paint a dot.

Re: TI 650859-1 & 650859-3 transistor identification

Maybe that color on the bottom side is code for beta so you can see how much they drifted over time from the specs. Do your transistors have colored bottoms? This letter is from 1966, your part is from 1965 so it could be valid. The paper doesn't mention the TI transistors, so the values may differ....

Re: TI 650859-1 & 650859-3 transistor identification

I guess more info for 650859-1 and 650859-3 can be found in Reference-Book "Wurlitzer Vol. 2" that covers models between 1954 - 1974. Maybe. Maybe not. I've never seen what's inside those guides.

Re: TI 650859-1 & 650859-3 transistor identification

Apparently 650859-3 were also part of the Wurlitzer Organ 4100BD reverb module https://irationaudio.com/2015/03/27/wurlitzer-4100a/ They are Texas Instruments TO5 metal PNP transistors. The number part, as was mentioned on eevblog forum, are Wurlitzer part numbers. https://www.eevblog.com/forum/repa...

2.1V gutshots. On this version the transistor is jfet n-channel BF256b. 6BG smd code corespondes to CMPF4416A. Nearby resistor have different value.

Re: VT BASS DI

There is a thread for Tech21 Character Series, with some schematics and table, but the thread is too long, I can't find quickly where is the one for the VT bass (no DI), if there's one. Nevertheless, this is the thread and the table with some values. https://www.freestompboxes.org/viewtopic.php?p=23...

Re: Digitech Whammy IV issue

Check if this led is working (that's the slot where the plastic strip goes in). If it's ok, you have to go deeper to find the problem. Here's the schematic.

This is the plastic strip that theehman is talking about. And make sure you are connected to the wet output.
