Re: DOD - FX50 Overdrive Preamp (1988, NOT the "B" version) [schematic]

Thanks for the input, guys. Mine looks more like the 1984 with the TL022CP. I assumed it was an '88 based on the sticker on the back. In retrospect, I did buy it before 1988. Maybe around '86~'87. Looks like the opamp is the only difference between '84 & '88.

DOD - FX50 Overdrive Preamp (1988, NOT the "B" version) [schematic]

I have a DOD FX50 Overdrive Preamp that I wanted to revive and convert to be relay bypassed. I've searched for the schematic but the only ones I found are either close but is slightly different, or, schematics for the FX50- B , which is significantly different. So, I decided to just trace pedal myse...

Re: Bondi Effects - Sick As Overdrive

nice bypass. not a Timmy. I am a little confused with the dual gang pot. I assume the switch either changes the diodes or moves the gangs in and out of series or a combo of both. Probably not why bother with a dual gang pot then? I'm guessing that the dual gang is wired similarly to the way a blend...

...The is my first pedal build ever, so i just had some questions. I plugged it in and first thing i noticed is that the drive knob operates in reverse from usual, is this normal. It works fine, just with max gain at the lowest setting... Sounds like you just switched the wires around. Just unsolde...

From what I have read here: http://www.stinkfoot.se/andreas/fx/types/gain.htm - OD9 = TS9, but without the FET switching

Re: Momentary SPDT and SPST (NC) footswitches

Normally On (Normally Closed) SPST Momentary footswitch at mouser - I've used the normally off (normally open) version in simple tap-tempo pedals.

Here is another Normally On (Normally Closed) SPST Momentary footswitch at mouser

I haven't seen any Momentary SPDT footswitches yet.

Re: Clearcoating enclosures

Any clear acrylic lacquer should be ok. I use Duplicolor from the local auto parts store. Don't lay on the clear too heavy all at once, you'll run the risk of getting runs which could ruin the artwork. Start with a few light coats, two or three, let it flash or dry to the touch, then a few more ligh...

Re: Boss - DN-2 ( Dynadrive )

Funny experience I had involving a Dyna Drive... someone approached me about changing the indicator LED on his DN2 to a 5mm bright blue LED. Happy to oblige, I took his pedal home and swapped out the LED. Of course, I had to drill out the LED hole bigger. Anyway, I finished the simple project and ga...

Re: Choruses, Flangers, BBD & LFOs - Did I get it right?

Do a search for the FX75-B schematic -there everything seems to be drawn correct. analogguru Ahh... The one I linked to above proved to contain errors, as Dirk pointed out. I noticed the errors when I started tracing my pcb. For instance, there is no input buffer in the schem but there is one on th...

Choruses, Flangers, BBD & LFOs - Did I get it right?

I have a dead DOD FX75 that I am trying to revive. As I have no idea behind BBD based flangers and choruses, I decided to find some info on the subject. I think that I understand some of the technology but I would like some verification or correction from the more knowledgeable people here. This is ...

Any of you ever try the polystyrene caps from mouser? I find them very clear, yet smoother sounding than mica, which I often find has quite a harsh 'bite' I like a 470 or 560pf polystyrene in parallel with the 470k resistor after the drive pot on the bsiab2. I haven't tried the AVX film caps yet, t...
