Re: death by audio dba reverberation machine gut shots and d [traced]

So, after actually giving a look over of the circuit board I noticed that you didn't include a 100k and 10k resistor. One of them is probably for the LED, but I'm not sure what the other's for. Also, is C12 what's hidden by the Blend pot? there is a 100k pull-down resistor off pin 14.. it is on my ...

Re: death by audio dba reverberation machine gut shots and d [traced]

Well I've never had any issues with this and this is pretty standard practice used in numerous effect pedals. Could you show a example circuit where a buffered reference voltage would be problematic? I've never heard about this issue before, and I'm interested understanding it. I,m no electrical en...

Re: death by audio dba reverberation machine gut shots and d [traced]

Is this a reply to my post? Maybe you misunderstood my drawing? A buffered reference voltage is pretty normal stuff, and quite stable as the reference voltage buffer has a very low impedance. I've built/used voltage buffers before, mostly at work (industrial environment) and not so much on pedals.....

Re: death by audio dba reverberation machine gut shots and d [traced]

With a voltage buffer you have positive unity gain, the worst-case condition for stability.. especially if you put cap on Vref..

Re: death by audio dba reverberation machine gut shots and d [traced]

Interesting. As far as I understand GBP is simply the constant BW at whatever gain you currently have your opamp configured in? Higher gain means less BW? So in this case I guess more high frequency from each opamp stage and possibly the brick itself? And as far as slew rate goes in the pedal circu...

Re: death by audio dba reverberation machine gut shots and d [traced]

many thanks for the schematic glass hero. i'm not familiar with the TLC27M4A. have read through the datasheet trying to make what sense of it i can, including the application information (fig.49 single rail ac amplifier seems to be used as is in u1 here). http://pdf.datasheetcatalog.com/datasheet/t...

Re: death by audio dba reverberation machine gut shots and d [traced]

If I can't find all the connections, and can't coax out some of the layout from Glass Hero, I might just end up buying one myself once my paycheck comes around so I can finish the trace. the schem i made is on an external hard drive.. i have been looking but have not found it yet.. I opened up my r...

Re: Death by Audio Kill Kill Filter [traced]

the filter is based off a twin T filter, with only one adjustable leg.. A twin T should give a notch response, however in this configuration it produces a tilt response.. This pedal is based off the current production dba fuzz war (big muff), the third stage is omitted (the one with the clipping dio...

Re: Death By Audio - Robot [traced]

A question for people who built this: how did you ground the jacks if you used a power-supply? I'm looking at the schematics and I see a virtual ground between +/-3.6V. I surely can't ground my jacks to that? I feel like that will create a ground loop. Am I right in assuming I have to ground my jac...

Re: Death By Audio Interstellar Overdriver [traced]

oh no, i don't have hard feelings about it at all.. i just didnt want to draw up fresh schem, so i quickly edited the deluxe version just to post my thoughts :D I wonder if the non-master volume version was a dual gain pot as well.. the second half of the dual gang pot and the master volume almost s...

Re: Death By Audio Interstellar Overdriver [traced]

Actually, check the first half of the dual-gang pot at the input. It looks like the signal comes out of the wiper, not what it looks like you have. I just copied from the deluxe version and added the second half of the dual gain pot.. feel free to adjust the schem, the deluxe schem that is posted h...

Re: Death By Audio Interstellar Overdriver [traced]

can you get some pics of the dual gain pot or continuity tests?

Its 3 stages similar to the deluxe version (the different is the dual gain pot) see this thread:

https://www.freestompboxes.org/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=8495

so here is my guess..

Re: Death By Audio - Robot [traced]

here is how to adjust the control knob with out having to stop playing.. the drive and vol knobs are both outside the pedal, the toggle switches give instant access to what ever pitch you want, and the small black button turns on the VIB mode.. when using with a bass guitar in the pitch down modes ...

Re: Death By Audio - Soundwave Breakdown [traced]

I just did up the Supersonic Fuzz and was going to breadboard this out since it is similar but I'm a little confused on the schem by where the 5k and 100k trimmers connect, as well as the Sine Wave pot. There seem to be some dangling connections. Can someone who has built this please elaborate on t...
