Re: Fuzz Factory Transistors?

I've seen a couple of the earlier handmade units carrying low hfe AC128s. Measured between 35-60.

Re: Laney LC15R Mods : adding screen grid resistors?

well i had one for repair with overheating problems
installing screen grid resistors really helped a lot
i wouldn't put 1k though cause it will alter the tone a lot as JHS said
I used 220ohm 5W just to be sure, but 100 ohm will also do the trick

thanks rotagilla
well i'm looking for polyester film type caps for the smoothness they add to a distorted sound and so far xicon greenies are good enough but still looking for something better in the same voltage rating/size/price range.

can anyone pleaz explain cause i'm about to order a bunch of them and if they suck i would like to get some nice alternatives with almost same size/volt ratings

well i haven't thought of that possibility

I guess that you mean cascading the two chips and controlling clock/delay time from a single pot. right?

the second schematic is more accurate, it/s the one with 430k/43k at the base of the transistor. Collector resistor is 10k. That means that the transistor-stage is a blatant clone of the first series EH Screaming Bird Treble Booster followed by a Smashdrive (with shorted drive poti) - unbelievable ...

listening to the clips I would say that the Fuzz God is probably based on the fuzz factory. I say based and not cloned
Then maybe a random octave/ring generator added like the one posted in diy stompbox forum some days ago
Just a guess though...
