Re: S. Hawk Ltd. - Hawk II Tonal Expander

Hey Lads, Another interesting incarnation of the Hawk II is the recently released Maritime Analog Effects Pedal Pistol Slapper - Booster/EQ/Overdrive http://www.maritimeanalog.com/pistol_slapper.shtml [ Image ] Flynn Amps' take on the Hawk II has the low pass filter on a tiny switch, the Slapper ha...

Re: Snarling dogs - Mold spore

Hi everyone, I know this is an old post but I hope someone here can help. Same old story here folks. I have the mold spore wah, ring mod side is non functional. It is most likely the Max 1044 chip. Now... how do I replace this chip? Does it require any soldering? Does the chip just pop out and a ne...

Re: Univox - Superfuzz [schematic]

The 3046 transistor array was hit or miss. I tested a few that were in the low 40's for gain - that's too low for the Superfuzz and it doesn't sound right. If you know the transistors are in the 60-100 range then it'll work, but it's not necessarily a drop-in solution. The best array results that I...

Re: Univox - Superfuzz [schematic]

2N3904 tend to be too hot. 2N2222 works better. Gains in the 150 to 180 range, with Q4 and Q5 matched. If you can find 2N2219's, even better.

Synthi Hi Fli

Well, The Freak lives. We'll have all the schematics, BOM's, build doc, blablabla and boards up at DEFX in a few weeks. We had some minor fuck ups to fix on the initial run of boards. Otherwise, works as it should. http://i.postimg.cc/Pqx0ymBp/58378832-444862626283702-8641187042333556736-n.jpg http:...

Right on!! Thanks!

Just for your own fun, you can really play around with all the input caps, make it as tame or sludgy as you wish. Lots of fun.

Re: Rams Head Big Muff 2N5133, FS36999 hFE notes

Insofar as array chips are concerned, MPQ2222 are my preferred. This applies not only to BMP's, but Superfuzz as well (with a 2N2913 in the octave section). Consistently within a 150 to 200 gain range, they do a wonderful job of pushing the amp without being obnoxious. If I want a Muff that's loud, ...

Yeah. Here's what I have. Didn't have time to validate it to the board trace tho, so you might want to check it yourself.

Re: KORG - FK-2 Mr. Multi Phase - Wah - Double Wah [schematic]

Phaser quality really depends on jfet selection. The tighter you can group the jfet's, the better the phaser will sound.

My first time around, I just threw a set of random jfet's in there, and it sounded like oatmeal.

Re: Univox - Superfuzz [schematic]

Long time no see... A few times after my last post (more than one year ago), i've checked and find nothing wrong comparing the schematics and the realisation, so get kind of desperate. But I really want to finally finish that first project and superfuzzed my sound, so checked another time and again...

Re: Way Huge - Purple Platypus [traced]

Been on the breadboard for a while now, and I'm pretty happy with it. Added my own tweaks; octave on/off (with LED), octave intensity control, and Mill 2 bypass. I upped the base gain resistor to 68K because I was getting a bit of a step in the gain at the low end of the pot. 68K smoothed that right...

Just noodling with Paint. Maybe this was what they had in mind for the Drive? Though, you would have to flip the outside lugs.

Re: Way Huge - Purple Platypus [traced]

Sorry for the nerco-bump. Found another gutshot. This one without the 27K/47K resistor installed. As you can see, this unit came off the line in 1998, whereas the other unit is a 1997. Leads me to believe that the 27K that is shown on the other unit does indeed go nowhere. Considering the position, ...

All spoken for.

For those that PM'd me, that I have not answered, if there is a non-payment I will offer that board to the next in line by when the PM was received.

For those that have paid, please take the time to read the build docwhile waiting for your board to arrive.
