Re: Wiring for switchable input caps?

I built the Bosstone and the switchable input caps work perfectly! Thanks again. Just one question though... Let's say I have the .1uF hooked up to terminal 1, and the .022uF hooked up to terminal 3... when the switch is flipped so that it's leaning towards terminal 1... which cap is in use? I gues...

Re: zombie chorus - 1590a layout

Nice job, Rocklander. Looks tight but certainly doable. Hopefully the non-ticking status is consistent with further builds....I have a feeling we'll soon find out.

Re: Farndurk - X2

so what became of the transistor plugs? sounds like a cool concept. kinda like: now you're a silicon FF, now you're a germanium FF. There are probably a few more ideas that i can't think of right now :slap: The flaw in the transistor plug idea is that with a stereo jack, you've basically always got...

Re: Univox - Superfuzz [schematic]

Using rosebloods layout of the DPDT........ 1 4 2 5 3 6 ........you wiring up the Tone Switch like I mentioned above with Lugs 1, 2 and 3. Then tie a ground point wire to LUG 5. Your Anode (positive) side of the LED would go to +9v. Then the Cathode (negative) side of the "Tone Switch Indicator...

Re: Univox - Superfuzz [schematic]

Not sure which board or layout you are using, but the Tone Switch only requires a SPDT switch which has three Lugs. The two outer Lugs of the SPDT (Lugs 1 and Lugs 3) would be connected to the two Outputs of the tone section and Lug 2 of the SPDT would be connected to Lug 3 on the Balance control. I...

Re: BAJA Sagittarian Charger (mini KLON) [documentation]

as per the layout picture of barry's site, the small diode at the upper left part of the board, the 1n470 or whatever is INDEED PICTURED BACKWARDS. i spent two weeks fucking around trying to debug the thing, and as soon as i turned the diode the other way, success. if in doubt, socket mount it. hop...

Re: Mini/Small enclosure pedals

Rocklander, I did the Solderman phaser and it works, but like you seem to imply...it is just the Phase 45.

I can't even imagine a OTA phaser to fit in the 1590A even with trying a smaller LFO (?), but I'd be estatic to see one.

Defactofuzz, awesome. I wish someone had done that (I guess I could have) before I did my build. I give it a look over later when I have my build plans in front of me to see if I see anything of interest.

Re: Mini/Small enclosure pedals

Just reread the OP and it looks like the he looking for Vero layouts. Sorry I missed that, but a still bunch of good links to some cool designs for smaller enclosures (even if not for vero) ended up being posted. Those Soldersound PCBs are cool, too. I have built a few.

Re: Mini/Small enclosure pedals

There are plenty of great projects for 1590a over at http://www.guitarpcb.com . Trem, ODs, Boosters, Fuzzes, etc..... Check out the G.B.O.F. in the PCB store. saw the g.b.o.f but they seem to show it in a 1590b enclosure... can you link to these 'plenty' of projects? I searched for 1590a and only g...

Re: E-Wave pedasl, CLones? Gut shots, check em out

A bit of research by Guycapuano turns up The Little Green Wonder schematic. Ding, ding. And that is it. A JFet Input Buffer and Dual Op-Amp Stages. The Film Cap values match (.22uf, .047uf, .047uf, .100uf). Three 1uf electros, Two 100uf Electros. The usual Mad Professor/BJFE 5.1 Zener for the LED In...

Also looks like they "scraped" off the box cap values?????

Then list it as a "KLon Killer"?????

And the guts of the first (neater) one ain't exactly perfect either.

If you notice there are 2 ground traces running around the outer edge of board. If you look at the In and Out Jacks, the Rings are connected with a short trace. The Sleeve of the Out is connected to that far outer trace and the The Sleeve of the IN is connected to the ground trace that has the outer...

Re: Mad Professor Fire Red Fuzz [traced]

I understand the $300.00 price tag, but to be honest I would understand a $159.00 price tag or $499.00 price tage, too. My main question was "Why?". Those reasons vary from pedal to pedal. Rare NOS components, difficulty in development, lack of competition offering same-type effect, handwi...
