Re: Solid Metal Pro/Solid Rock Pro build report
Agree with all you typed! I've compared both schematics back to front and indeed, you need the boost input stage activated to get to the exact same stages (even though the first stages of both pedals are somewhat different) and all further stages are identical up to that SMP IC3A stage. Well, *almos...

Re: Solid Metal Pro/Solid Rock Pro build report
Ok, thanks for the confirmation of the gain issue. I'll look into that mid switch, seems like I experience something similar. Here's also some pics of the 1590D. I had to grind away the middle bolt-thingy on the bottom plate to make it close properly! The drillholes are properly crooked and I put th...

Re: Solid Metal Pro/Solid Rock Pro build report
Hey Seb, thank you so much for saving my day! I soldered mine last week but it didn't work right. I noticed that all biases were off (1.6V at most) but didn't realize that all those biasing resistors were replaced by 6k8's in the BoM. Your table saved me a lot of time. Now it works like it should (I...

TC Electronics Eyemaster (HM2 clone) mods
Hey all, Generally I'm impressed with the cheap TC Electronics line of basic pedals: they cover the basics, are extremely affordable and are built like a tank. With the Eyemaster HM-2 clone however, they decided (in all their wisdom) to only make the Gain and Level pots available, which makes it les...

Here you go. Thanks to bajaman for letting me attach his (simplified) schematic. https://www.freestompboxes.org/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=28216&p=275399#p266213 Please revise and re-upload some form of corrected layout if you have it handy... 12V should be fed to pin 8? Hi, Actually, I redesigned...

Re: Catalinbread Pareidolia Harmonic Mesmerizer [traced]
it does pass a signal but it's very trebly (I already switched out c10 to pre-compensate but to no avail) Remove R12 and see if any bass-signal passes! From there, continue to debug. and I can hear odd glitches. Hm that's weird. I suppose you don't have access to a scope and a tonegenerator? The ra...

Re: Lehle Parallel, schhematic [schematic]
Weird, you get a liiiitle bit more headroom this way on the negative side, but I'm not sure if it is really needed. All opamp stages are regerenced to GND and powered by +9 (or +Vbatt!!!) and -8.42, from the ICL7660. To be honest, I didn't know that the ICL deliveres a negative voltage that is sligh...

Forgot to remove something, could an admin/mod delete the post above? Here's the verified vero layout. (The labels are NOT the same as in the schematic above!) I built one over the weekend according to the above v1.3. Works like a charm. Photo-2016-05-19-18-36-02_5666.JPG Photo-2016-05-19-18-36-11_...

Re: 19" tube amps, patch panels and shielding.
You could always bend a bit of sheetmetal around the back of that panel should it turn out to pose problems in your case, but I don't expect that to be necessary.

Re: 19" tube amps, patch panels and shielding.
I think you worry too much
I assume 'glowing tubes' refers to audio tubes of your amps? In that case there's only worrying about 6.3V AC filament supply wires, which are most of the time twisted and *inside* the cases anyway!
Just my €0.02

Re: Boss DF-2 Distortion/feedbacker switching problem
It shouldn't start in "LED blinking mode", it should only blink if the footswitch is pressed. Are you sure the switch is ok? Desolder one wire and power the pedal: it should not be blinking. If it doesn't blink, touch the wire to the other FS wire for switching. Also, measure pins 10 and 1...

Re: Boss - Metal Zone MT2 mods
So I wonder if the gyrator could be improved instead of just disabled. Could it be that it sounds better with a lower Q? I could also add a trim pot in series to C24 to control the intensity of the gyrator. Or I could replace the gyrator by just a condenser and a resistor in series to ground to ris...

Re: Boss DF-2 Distortion/feedbacker switching problem
Anyways, the "SW LOGIC"-part isn't quite as obvious to me as I hoped. I understand the Ibanez JFET switching, but this seems different, with the chip in place and all. That's because of the added Feedbacker functionality, which kickes in if you hold the footswitch depressed. This requires...

Re: Boss - Metal Zone MT2 mods
The buzziness is also emphasised by the gyrator *after* the clippers. Hi frequencies are boosted far too much. Remove C 24 and hear the difference!
That said, I like your switches
