Re: phasers with transistors

Correct... but in practice, both in the DIY community and broader electronics field, 99% of the time you hear "transistor" it refers to BJT, and it's generally safe to assume this is the case. JFETs are always called JFETs and MOSFETs are always called MOSFETs, even though the "T&quo...

Re: phasers with transistors

The original Bad Stone used JFETs, not transistors. :secret: Just an off-topic remark : JFETs are transistors, that's what the T means. It's not the first time i see people refer to only BJT as transistors, and it feels weird. BTW, in the Bad Stone the 4009 is used as a MOS transistor array, half o...

Re: Joyo - JF-13 AC Tone [schematic]

I know it is a pretty old topic, but I´ve been searching for this schematic for awhile and I did not found... So I took a pedal borrowed from a colleague and reverse enginneer it... Here is the full schematic of it... [...] Soon I will have the British and AC Tone also, so I can have the values for...

Re: Half-way down latching PCB push switch?

This is a bad idea. Button should only exist in two possible stages: pressed or not. By no means there should be any mid-stages because it makes it difficult to interract with the button and it also would require you to implement additional indication to show in which stage the button currently is,...

Re: Ampeg - Phazzer [schematic]

BTW, what happens if we use entirely the inverters (lower Fet's) from a 4069 to make a six stage phaser ? It will work. I don't think the increased load of two more MOS gates capacitance would make a difference for the LFO. Had six stage phasers any advantage ? :hmmm: It will have three notches in ...

Re: Behringer FX100 (based over a coolaudio V1000)

It should then be possible to use different effects from the V1000 with several Behringer digital pedals, like chorus, phaser or reverb [...] The quick and dirty way is to use the internal programs of the V1000, it requires lifting pin2 (internal mode when not connected to ground) and then choosing...

Here is a working link for the original schematic : http://geolog.mydns.jp/www.geocities.jp/dgb_studio/3svari2_e.htm#35 3sw35.png With SW2 in the up position, you get a rather standard strat wiring. In the down position, the middle lug of the upper side of the selector is connected to PU1 : it gets ...

You may also cut stripboard tracks lengthwise to make a quick & dirty SOIC adapter : https://ketturi.kapsi.fi/2013/12/uart-to-rs232-voltage-level-shifter/ http://www.beesnotincluded.com/2009/06/surface-mount-soldering-onto-stripboard.html https://aws1.discourse-cdn.com/arduino/original/4X/7/0/9/...

Good BOM optimisation, as they for sure have a huge stock of components for the standard Big Muff.

A bit off-topic, but for a single-chip BMP work-alike you may look at the 22/7 from RunoffGroove : http://www.runoffgroove.com/22-7.html

Re: Valveste 8080 copy EXPERIMENTAL tube gain stage mod

R69 should stay (it sets the reference voltage for the grid).
Disconnecting one leg of either R95 or C54 is sufficient to break the feedback loop, but beware of the high voltage on the side of R71.

This is not uncommon for Tech21 products. They for sure optimise their components stock with that.
I also suspect both gooped modules to be similar, or even identical, to the one we reverse engineered in the Character Series thread.

Pretty much.
You need to figure out how to set a slow attack in the side-chain, depending on the particular operating principle of your unit.

The DC-coupled cathode follower is a bit more than that, and some say it's the key to the "Marshall Sound".
