Re: UniVibe Clone - Forum Vibe

I'm probably not going to be of much assistance here. Just to be clear, though, when you refer to the LFO LED, are you referring to the light bulb? I built the Madbean version. It has an LED that mounts on the box to show what the light bulb is doing, but I don't see an LED on this one.

Re: Amptweaker - Tight Metal [traced]

Hi everyone. I've read through this thread and while I saw plenty of artwork, I was hoping there would be an Eagle layout to share. Anyone? I'd like to send this sucker to Oshpark since my PCB efforts tend to rust everything around me. Since they have a 3-board minimum, I would most likely have a s...

Re: Amptweaker - Tight Metal [traced]

I have heard it mentioned in this forum that you can build the Tight Metal and Tight Rock from the same layout, but with different component values. Does anyone have the component values of the tight rock (or a schematic with values)? Mike Hey Mike, have a look at J0K3RX's post here: https://www.fr...

Re: John Mcintyre Fender Bassman Bluesmaker Mod

Wow,I still have the GPlayer mag in which was published. Aharon I still have that issue as well. I still have my SF Bassman, too. ...and yes this is an old thread. :) I didn't do that rebuild, but I did do some things. I paid $60 for my amp around 1989, so modifying it was a free-for-all as far as ...

Re: Adding an external preamp to a Bassman

Hey Dave,, I'd do a bit more reading first as you have drawn the common of your preamp add on directly to the 400VDC rail of the main Amplifier . [smilie=a_reading.gif] You will likely kill the amp or worse,, kill yourself. [smilie=pope.gif] Frankly I avoid modding amps as it's often counter produc...

Adding an external preamp to a Bassman

Hi all, I've been reading Martin Blencowe's preamp book and I'd like to use the power amp of my 1976 Bassman 50 to test out some ideas. I've had the chassis in a cradle several times since '91 so I'm comfortable modifying it. If it matters to anyone, this wouldn't be a permanent thing. I just want t...

MOSFET Obsidian protection zener?

Apparently circuit protection is not something I'm good at. I've been trying to understand which direction a zener would be installed in Joe Davisson's Obsidian to prevent frying another BS250. Between the P-Channel devices and the negative ground drawing, I'm very confused. To help myself along, I ...

Because the speaker out jack is an extra output for the amp, not an input for the speakers.

It's had it's moments. Nelson has a project file for his clone here. As I recall the unanswered question is "what value is the thermistor?"

Pictures would definitely be welcomed.

Regarding the PIC µC, there wouldn't be much involved in coding a tap tempo add-on. Basically, it waits for you to push the button. When you do, it starts counting (1, 2, ... 1000, 1001, etc.). When you push it again, it makes a note of where the counter is (lets say it's at 1005). From there, the p...

Normal is like a 1590BB, 125, etc. An example of bi-level is like the boxes Mick Farlow makes.

His are reportedly very well made, but I'm guessing he's not set up for volume.

Are you looking at "standard" boxes? I could really use a bi-level box to allow switches and encoders/pots on the same board.

I suppose the switches could be momentary. If the Dist and O/D switches each pulsed a flip flop, you could then have the master switch pulse both flip flops, reversing their state.

Massive as in at least 1000 per month? Taiwan probably won't do lots smaller than that. That would be good to know. I doubt that PPP is moving anywhere near that many, but I'm only guessing they're getting them from the source. Does anyone know if the Toadworks boxes at Smallbear are custom manufac...

I gotta say, that's one pretty amp.

Modman I'm curious how that deal of yours turns out. I bought a very noncollectable 1976 Bassman head for $60US nearly twenty years ago. Frankly, that's a good amp for me since I'm not concerned about taking it out of the house.
