I built one, not impressed by it. Not much boost, more a weak eq type thing, didn't bother boxing it up. If you are really interested I'd breadboard it first.

Re: Univox - Superfuzz [schematic]

You could keep the original tone section, and add a tone knob. Taking the output from after the diodes and run it to a pole of a DPDT switch. On one side have the route through the normal tone stack with the two position switch intact. On the other throw you can insert the tone stack of your choice,...

Get yourself a junior hacksaw and run the blade down the channels between the tracks to get rid of any solder bridges that might be shorting it out. Looks pretty blobby.

Yes, well done indeed.

A really nice looking build too, neat work.

Re: Univox - Superfuzz [schematic]

What switching are you using for bypass? It's a high gain circuit, you need to have switching that grounds the circuit input on bypass otherwise when it's 'on' you get a feedback loop produces that kind of squeal.

Re: James Burton's SolaSound ColorSound Wah/Fuzz/Volume Peda

The schematic for the inductor less wah circuit is knocking around, probably find a vero too. I had a red CS fuzz wah, the fuzz was a typical silicon transistor fuzz face, so no need to spend a lot of cash on an original if you just want the sound. You can mod the wah to be a volume pedal too, but I...

Re: Fuzz Master FM-2 vs. Orpheum Fuzz

I did use the tagboard vero and just substituted the different tone stack. If you can follow the the schematic through the vero then it's just a matter of seeing where the signal enters the tone stack section, which in this case is after the diodes to ground. Then you find where it comes back in whi...

thanks for sharing a great project here, your generosity is much appreciated. I've stored the schematic and I'll get round to giving it a try at some point I'm sure. Good work!

Re: just copped a SYSTECH PHASER

So, as Prescence is one of my favourite albums I have to ask what makes you think that Page used this phaser? I've read that he used the Maestro PS1 and the MXR P90 around and about, like all this stuff who knows for sure I guess. Either way, Systech stuff is rare and cool so good catch Jimster!

Looking at the schematic I wouldn't expect it to sound much different.

Re: MXR Classic 108 Fuzz [schematic]

What I'd try is this:

Wire your bypass switch as usual. The input to the circuit goes to your second switch. This you wire to buffer input and fuzz input as the two options in the same way as you wired effect and bypass on the first switch. This will leave the MBP control lug unconnected.

Re: Behringer - PH9

Thanks for sharing the schematic. I think I see a 'script' switch and an added 'depth' control too? Something different about the output section but its a while since I messed with the P90 so can't put my finger on it.

Re: WEM - Project V [schematic]

Stu Castledine did the PCB layout, he did a great job I think, I have sold a few of these to DIYers who have asked however I am down to my last few and need to do another run of them, would be more than happy to sell them to anybody who is interested. I certainly am, and I'm sure many other would b...

Re: WEM - Project V [schematic]

 thanks for the effort though AB, the thought was there! Yes, I used that schematic to try and trace my way through it, but its not like a FF or BM where you can easily trace the signal path. The Ghost one is really nice, I'd forgotten that he does one, I've spoken to Ian before, he helped me o...

Re: WEM - Project V [schematic]

I do still have the second attempt vero, No1. Was a bit of a mess from the start. As far as I could see the vero matched up with the hand drawn schematic, my grounds were alright and power gettin where it was supposed to but no output. Signal tracing proved challenging, its a heck of a circuit to un...

Re: Skippy Tremelo by Moosapotamus vero (vox repeat percussi

Hmmmmm..? I tried mine with a fuzz face and a TA 28 in front and didn't really notice it to that extent. Yes it is kind of treble-y, but that's the nature of it I think. The smaller the input cap the more pronounced the poing effect is, but the more hiss you get and the more tick as well. The smalle...

Re: Skippy Tremelo by Moosapotamus vero (vox repeat percussi

Yep, got a working build off of this one so thanks! Ticking is reduced, you never notice it when playing its mostly apparent with high gain if your not playing. Also noticed that the smaller the input cap the more prominent it is, I went with 10nf and 47nf on mine. For the speed cap, I liked 4u7 and...
