white text on dark paint via etching?
Has anyone tried using a variant of etching in order to achieve white paint on dark paint? My idea is to etch a peddal such that the recessed areas would be where you want your text. You would etch it, the paint it the background color. Then spray a layer of white paint over the dark color. The whit...

125B Enclosure Chamfers
Does anyone know the radius of the chamfers on the 125B? Better yet, does anyone have a link to the drawings of 125B's kindof like how Hammond has drawings of 1590's?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Sanding Questions
Hi,
What grit should I use to get a nice shiny finish on both paint and for bare (for etching)? How should I step it up to the max grit? I can't find anything higher than 220 at home depot but I see online I can get up to at least 3000 from small bear.
Thanks!

electrolytic caps and Big Muff Pi
Hi, I'm looking at a schematic of the Big Muff Pi and I noticed that at the input, there's a electrolytic cap but it has negative toward the input. Wouldn't this effectively block the signal? Am I missing something? How does the signal get through the capacitor that's polarized the other way? http:/...

volume or gain control?
Hi, I'm going to be building a headphone splitter with individual volume or gain controls. I'm splitting the signal 8 ways, so obviously, I'll need some amps. I'll be using TL072 dual opamps. Now, my question is this...what's the best way to control volume? 1) Use dual gang pot to control signal ups...

Building 1/4" and Power Cables
Any suggestions on where I buy cables for 1/4" cables? What keywords do I look for when searching for it?
Also, what type of cables do I use for building power cables?
Thanks!

I believe that should work since they are isolated circuits. That's what I had planned to do anyway...Let me know how it works .

Re: WEBER Transformer enclosures
awesome info dude! That's just what I was looking for! I did buy the enclosure so I have it on hand to measure. The internal working space would come from the "bottom" portion of the enclosure consisting of the bottom and front and back sides. The real working dimensions are 11 7/8" l...

Re: WEBER Transformer enclosures
thanks! I thought about that one too. I haven't gotten the transformer yet and the dimensions on the weber website aren't very clear. It's not completely clear to me whether it'll fit or not. There's gotta be something that it fits into though, right?

WEBER Transformer enclosures
Hi, I'm thinking of using a WPDLXFMR. What enclosures do you guys use for this? It's kindof a beast and won't fit in a more common enclosure, right?
thanks in advance!

GEOFEX JEFT Matching
http://www.geofex.com/Article_Folders/fetmatch/fetmatch.htm Being a total noob at this, I'm having trouble reading the the schematic for the JFET Matcher. I get that the +ive goes to pin 8 and the -ive into pin 4. Is the pin to the right for pin 1 (or 7), the pin on bottom to pin 3 (or 5) and the pi...

2 color LEDs in metal bezel
Hi,
How do you guys put a 2 color LED with 3 leads into a metel bezel since they come with a 2 hole plug? Is there some way to get it in?
Thanks!

Tayda Electronics
Hi,
Has anyone ever bought stuff from Tayda electronics? I am just a little leary of buying stuff from offshore. Are they a safe supplier as far as security/personal information goes?
Thanks!

mounting a transformer in an enclosure
Are there any tips on mounting a transformer in an enclosure? Does there need to be electrical isolation between the transformer and the box? I want to be safe when I do this so I don't fry myself.
Thanks!

adapting a Tubescreamer (or any pedal) for Bass
If I wanted to adapt a pedal to be used for bass, is it as simple as lowering the threshold of the high-pass filter and perhaps also that of the low-pass filter?
Thanks in Advance!

Anyone ever used a Weber WPDLXFMR transformer?
I understand that it has 8 isolated 11V AC outputs and a 9V AC out. Have any of you used it before? Good results with it? Does it come with 20 leads and is each pair individually labeled?
Thanks!

When a resistor is called out as 500R, what does that mean? Does it just mean it's a 500ohm resistor?

Re: Reamp for Headphone Amp
Thanks! I am indeed trying to do this from line level. So if I understand correctly, I don't need to re-amp the signal before putting it through something like a LM386 OpAmp?
