Re: Guyatone Fuzz 2000 (would like the schematic) [schematic]
Digi2t & Dead End FX end the mystery: https://www.deadendfx.com/product/fetzz (schematic in "Build documents" section of website) Thanks! :applause: I only just checked back into this thread. I never subscribe to threads so I forgot about it and wasn’t informed of your post.

Re: EXH - Big Muff Rams Head 2N5133, FS36999 hFE notes
Totally agreed, I love 150 to 200 HFE on BMs, they react so much better to the gain pot and guitar volume... Another point to consider I tried many transistors on BM with hfe range +-200: KT315E, BC169B, BC546B, 2N2222, BC184B, 2n3904 and was amaze by the sound difference on the BM. So the myth tha...

Re: EXH - Big Muff Rams Head 2N5133, FS36999 hFE notes
One of the best sounding big muffs I’ve ever heard is one I built from a GGG schematic. I swapped a couple of parts but only because it’s what I had. I used 2N5089 transistors and I never even bothered measuring them, just randomly picked from a bunch of 50 or so. This one (my changes in red) IMG_06...

Spektr-3 Fuzz (Russian/Soviet)
So, a couple of years ago I was watching videos and came across the Russian Spektr-3 Fuzz, Wah, Autowah unit and thought the fuzz part sounded pretty good. Some time later I saw some demos on YouTube of just the Fuzz section that Soviet Guitar Effects has made and sells for the mere lowly pittance o...

Just updating the missing Schem. I don’t recall where I found it. It was by Soggybag anyways.

Germanium Diode & Transistor Museum (online)
Found this while browsing various Russian parts so thought I’d share it.
Japanese with English. Nice photos of old components.

And a Transistor Museum linked from that site:

Re: Big muff pi conversion boards
I was curious of anybody knows of a drop in board that would allow a NYC version 9 to be converted to an op amp version 4 or 5, preferably 5? Contact this guy. https://pigeonfx.com/ I made original bmp PCB layouts many years ago (opamp v4 and Sovtek versions) and this guy cleaned up a couple and ma...

Re: Big Muff Ram's head low gain question [SOLVED]
Debugging plays a big part in the learning process, anyway 😊 it's not just wasted time, not always at least.... But I do agree with you Bumblebee: it's good to devise a method for avoiding debug! Yeah, it does for sure. However, a lapse in concentration for a few seconds can cost you hours in debug...

Re: Big Muff Ram's head low gain question [SOLVED]
Ok so here are my measurements for the transistors: Transistors (C,B,E) Q1 3.8V, 0.68V, 42mV Q2 3.8V, 0.63V, 43mV Q3 3.6V, 0.64V, 42mV Q4 4.9V, 1.7V, 1.2V I've also included a short snippet of first a clean sound (strat through a vst) and then with the circuit engaged with sustain on full, tone abo...

Re: Introducing the Alternate Dimension: Flexible Dimension/Dual Chorus
I've just bought this brilliant pedal, friends do you have any idea or suggestions for mod this pedal? I have a suggestion….leave it stock. If you want to mod it then build a clone and mod that. These pedals are great and have become stupid expensive today. It deserves to be left as is. However, it...

Re: Big Muff Ram's head low gain question [SOLVED]
Thanks for your reply, I've been doublechecking for solderbridges and resoldered any potential dead spots but so far not resulting in more gain. Now I've followed the veroboard layout as included. I also added a schematic of the Violet variant, which I know might slightly differ in some component v...

Re: Big Muff Ram's head low gain question [SOLVED]
Hi, so one of my recent builds is a Ram's Head Big Muff based on the layout on the Tagboardeffects site. Now it sounds really wonderfull and creamy and all, it's just really low gain compared to sound clips I hear of this pedal. The voltages on the transistors seem fine (could post them on request)...

Re: JHS Pumpkin pie/patch mod schematic?
Thank you! Here a gift back for those who are searching for a schematic with these mods. It is a 1978 version Opamp Muff with tone switch and added optimalisations as mentioned by Gottfried Divos. https://i.imgur.com/k4RmFQO.jpg Gottfried (analogguru) was somewhat of a polarizing figure around here...
