Re: Mosky Ch-Vibe - does not sound like a Univibe [Solved]

always , I even tried to decouple the supply for the IC, it's a shame because it really sounds good but the clicking noise is a deal breaker

T-REX Mudhoney II loud popping sound when bypass on/off

I got this beautiful pedal I bought second hand that has a very loud "Pop!" sound when I press the bypass button both activating and deactivating, I think there is a DC in some point, maybe with a resistor to ground somewhere could be cured but I have no idea where to apply it in this SMD ...

Re: T-Rex Mudhoney schematic [traced]

I have a trex Mudhoney II and a trex Dual Drive , I thought they were almost the same BUT the mudhoney is a bit too trebly, especially with my Fender Princeton. Any idea about the differences between the Mudhoney II vs original Mudhoney ?

Re: Rat mod to improved clean up tome when riding guitar volume?

I've just modded my rat , my aim was to increase bass, so I changed the 2.2uF cap on the feedback loop to a 4.7uF and I increase the input cap to 1uF, I think it's now perfect for my rig (it's more a fuzz now , so it may not be good for everyone) but I' incidentally have noticed it works way better ...

Re: Voodoo Lab - Micro Vibe [schematic]

since I've found that my microvibe works way better with a buffer in front (that's why I'm using a Boss as a first pedal) I was mumbling.... what if I put a simple Jfet buffer in place of the first 22K R ? I mean, a common 1 M to grounfd to the gate, Drain at 9V, 10K at source and from the source th...

Re: Rat - Little Bear R.ATTACK chinese

it seems that the changed values bring the same freq cut of a standard RAT more or less, the asymettrical clipping may indeed sounds different

Re: Dunlop - JD-4S Rotovibe [schematic]

reviving a zombie thread ....

I was reading the schematic , in the rotovibe the four stage cap values are not the 'common' univibe values , I think that is part of the rotovibe characteristic sound.

Has anybody ever tried these values in other unit such as phase 90 or some univibe clone ?

Re: T-Rex Mudhoney schematic [traced]

so, we can make a rat sound like a mudhoney with just two mods, 4.7uF in place of the2.2uF cap on the feedback loop and a 1uF cap in place of the 22nF on the input, interesting

Re: Boss - OD-3 Overdrive [schematic]

So here it is: boss_od3_schematic - kanengomibako_dec_2021.png Hi, after 11 years I come back to this thread to share the only really useful mod I've found in this pedal, but, well, it works to tame the bass, my only complain about this pedal: decrease C13. Put a 22n or even a 18n in place of that ...

I have it and although it sounds similar to a TS9 it's not a strictly clone sonically, I compared them side by side, I do prefer the nux

Re: Menatone Foxy Brown

hi, such an old thread... I've seen Mentone sells a modified version with a switchable bass cut, I wonder how he can do it. I see two places for a different çap value, the cap at the output of the first Fet and the bypass cap over the source resistor of the second Fet. Any idea? could anybody confir...

Re: Boss - SD-1w Super OverDrive (Waza Craft)

the boss Instagram post reports that the tone circuit is differently tailored from the standard SD-1 in mode classic, it would be interesting to know the tone/resistor cap value.

Re: Catalinbread - Formula No. 55 [traced]

hi,
I have an original Formula 55 pedal, it's awesome but it has a noticeably problem with my setup, the volume has a bump and it's usable in the first 1/5 of the volume range, it practically goes from 0 to loud in a fraction of the turn, has anyone noticed this? any idea how to solve it?

Re: Favorite mods for Dunlop JDF2 FuzzFace?

Imho there are 3 main points in every fuzz face build, using JD2F2 schematics they are: C3 - lowering it to 1uF (film) or 0.47uf the sound results less boomy, more open, since less bass hit the input of the first stage C2 - depending on versions it seems that sometimes you can find a 0.1uF for outpu...

ok, but how? I don't understand the purpose of adapting the impedance, a buffer doesn't reduce hum by itself as far as I know
