Daphon/Wholenote Chorus Pedals?

These pedals are dirt cheap and I'm just wondering if they are any good, its likely a clone of a more famous pedal like the CS9 or something but I have no idea as Ive never seen inside one of these. They exist under a lot of different names but its easy to recognise them. Guts would be great if poss...

looks like R33 has been changed too.. it looks like a carbon comp! Typical analog man mojo.

Re: Importance of choke in marshall designs?

So I dropped the choke in today and WOW! the amp is even more alive!! Adds another dimension of clarity to the tone, I'd recommend to everyone!

Cheers baja for the advice :D

Re: Malekko Spring Chicken - tiny reverb pedal... [traced]

the chip definitely looks like the belton with the surround removed, and the label taken off/painted over.

This could be the next affordable reverb clone?

Re: Ibanez FL5 (soundtank FL-9 clone)

Okay so this is actually a lot different from the FL9; I followed the track from a pin of the depth ('width') pot (wire 8 on the schematic) and it leads to +ve input on the TL022 op, and also to an electrolytic and other different section...

Should I post guts?

[UK] MN3208 Panasonic BBD £6 posted :)

Anybody in the UK interested in a NOS Panasonic MN3208 BBD? used in analog delays and flangers, chorus etc. Easily be used to add more delay time onto an existing delay pedal! There are no UK suppliers for these, and importing is expensive.. I'll sell this for £6 posted for reference: http://cgi.eba...

Re: nuX CH2 Analog Chorus (w/Factory Schem) [schematic]

Well spotted! Its a near exact clone! I'm true bypassing and changing a few components (it uses the BLxxx driver and BBD) soon, hopefully it sounds even better after! I'll get up some gut shots, so people can see the quality of the components used, theyre poly caps, 1/8 watt resistors but best of al...

nuX CH2 Analog Chorus [schematic]

nuX is a little known chinese company, a division of Cherub. They produce some fantastic pedals (I've tried the flanger and I bought the chorus) they are made with good quality components and metal casings. This chorus is quite versatile, very warm sounding! Can go anywhere from subtle retro to quic...

Boss DD-6 hi-cut mod?

I hear this is a fantastic mod for a more analog sound, does anybody know more about it?

The DD2/3 mod involved two capacitors...I think! But its supposed to be different for the DD6

Re: Daphon DF2210 Plastic Cased Wah [schematic]

I had one of these as my first wah pedal, I remember it was very similar to a crybaby. I modded it with a few things and it sounded nice! If I remember there was a DPDT switch but only one side was used, so I was able to wire in true bypass!

My first mod :)

Re: Importance of choke in marshall designs?

Slight confusion here, I thought it was the 5 ohm I'm supposed to replace? (the 5 ohm just after the power switch)

or is it R59? the resistor after plate and before the screen voltage?

Re: Importance of choke in marshall designs?

it has a 5 ohm resistor where the inductor would be on the JCM800  it is actually a 400 ohm 5 watt resistor. Get rid of that awful texture control - unless you are playing blues harp through it  bajaman My bad! I remembered a 5 :P Thanks for the heads up on the ballast, ill have a loo...

Re: How to measure voltage (safely) in a tube amp?

Thanks for the tips guys! successfully biased my Peavey Windsor (converted to 800 specs) today! I used my cheap but great DMM, I had a look at those fluke ones...very expensive :P I'm doing it myself to gain knowledge and to save money lol! If I was doing it on a regular basis I would likely get a b...

Importance of choke in marshall designs?

Hi everyone, I'm currently modding my peavey windsor to reach JCM800 spec, its fun so far but I just cant get rid of a sort of fizzyness triggered by the low end.. I have read that it is related to the lack of a choke in the power supply. For those unfamiliar with the Windsor, it has a 5 ohm resisto...

Re: How to measure voltage (safely) in a tube amp?

Thanks for the tips :) how would I go about measuring current? I have a DMM which has current measuring on it too but it says (10ADC) is that enough?

How to measure voltage (safely) in a tube amp?

Hi everyone, I'm looking for a few points on how to check the voltages inside a tube amp, a friend of mine was checking what output a transformer had in his old radio (valve) and he put the MM+ on the live and MM- on neutral and nearly blew himself up.. I'm looking for a few pointers on how to be sa...
