Re: Anyone want to reverse-engineer a Tone Monk Seed of Life [traced]
The first resistor didn't do anything, I don't know it's value just some resistor I had in the drawer. Then I picked up the one in the pic and it worked. I'm not sure what I've got here but it works and the FAT switch sounds wonderful now. Congratulations, you've just made it to the world of boutiq...

Wow. That is just plain amazing. And by amazing I mean a total bitch-ass move.

Sure, we will always enjoy a new pedal to have a look inside of.
Post some nice clear photos of the guts so we can see what is going on. Use macro function on your camera if it has such a feature. The universal symbol for macro mode is a small flower.
Is it gooped?

Concur. All parts on this PCB are used in the circuit.Seiche wrote:about the decoy resistors, well he didn't use any here.

Re: Farndurk - Sultan [traced]
Just had a sharper look at the composite image that seiche posted. It is definitely Orange Squeezer. I do not see anything that resembles any modification. Not even the most obvious type, which would be to make use of the other half of the dual op amp (the inverting input is grounded and the output ...

Pedalgrinder: Are you quoting Farndurk? If so, can you provide a link to these statements?

Tracing should begin with a copy of the Orange Squeezer schemo close at hand.

Farndurk - X2
Just collected a few photos from Farndurk's own photobucket account that were posted on forum. It would seem that the "X2" and "X" both utilize the "X v1.0" circuit board. Single op amp + switchable clippers / no tone control. Perhaps a DOD250 / Distortion+ work-alike? ...

Just noticed that the BYOC Large Beaver kit includes an option to build a Swollen Pickle version of the circuit with the array (included in the parts kit): http://www.buildyourownclone.com/beaver.html That version of the kit has been for sale since 2007. Maybe BYOC will release a kit for the time ma...

I took this from screenshot of youtube video.
Not sure what the op amp says. Either "TLC XXX" or "TL0 XXX".
Maybe some idea what is under the goop?

Re: Black Arts Toneworks - Pharaoh [traced]
I'm 99% sure the resistors are correct, the only one I'm not sure of is the 1K on the first stage emitter. There isn't really another place for that 1K to go and there aren't enough 100R resistors on the board. I just opened mine again. Your resistor values are correct (even the 1K). Also, despite ...
