Re: Dinosaural OTC-201 Opticompressor [traced]

I have one of these boards made it and i have never found a compressor i have been more happy with on bass this one is amazing hands down. My only complaint is this. I would like an led to pulse brighter on and low level pulsing in regards to how much it is compressing it doesn't have to spot on acc...

Re: MXR M87 Bass Compressor Demo

I think they are so expensive that no one is willing to even put a screwdriver to it. they are worth $300 there abouts but if you can score the schematic and have the time and patients like $50 bucks but hard to say if anything digital in there.

Re: Barber Linden EQ [traced]

I still reckon the trannies sound cleaner and better than the op amps. I usually go for trannies over op amps found it to be better and cleaner.

Re: Barber Linden EQ [traced]

Ok here are my thoughts on this pedal. Ampeg made a transistor version of the well known b-15. It was called the bt-15 the t in it as far as i understand is for transistor. Now this pedal claims to be the b-15 sound in a pedal. well if you take the preamp section of the bt-15 i dare say you have the...

Re: Diamond - Compressor [new gut shots added] [traced]

I've now modded my Moen Unicomp to totally be the same as the diamond compressor including op amps and caps. sounds great and for around $55 dollars australian in total can't go wrong. I did change the compression pot to 250k to give more compression. I found a ratio of 3:1 to low. the 250k pot make...

Re: Acoustic 360

Does anyone know if the original circuit has low output? I figure from looking through that once the midrange has done it's bit and all the other passive circuitry would attenuate it a bit. But I am trying to work out wheather to build a original or put 2 extra gain stages or 1 on the end for more h...

Re: MXR M87 Bass Compressor Demo

This one would be a great candidate to get guts shots of it. But i bet it's all smd. Absolute ballbreaker to trace if thats the case. But a schematic of it would definately be nice.

Re: EH - Low Frequency Compressor [schematic]

what do you think putting it in the feedback path eliminates the hiss. I've tried both very little difference yes it does decrease the hiss and crap slightly in the feedback path. But basically it sounds like shit. The transistor would sound way better. In my opinion. I've tried both and i know whic...

Re: a metric tonne of cool old electronic books etc

Hi, Thanks for the link atreidesheir much appreciated for your efforts there. But that would have to be the most horrid nasty compressor schematic i have ever seen. That thing wouldn't be worth pissing on if it was on fire! Even then i would have to contemplate if it was going to be a waste of piss....

The topology is everywhere. How it exactly works not like how does a amplifier work thats everywhere...
