Re: Aliexpress, Good or bad experiences?

I see they have some Klon type enclosures that look nice in pictures. Did anybody here ever order one of those ?

Re: Behringer XD300 Distortion-X

It's a copy of the Boss XT-2 Xtortion. Your friend might want to look for one of those instead of another Behringer if he wants that sound again, but in a more durable package. Here's a nice video to help you with the repairs. It includes a corrected schematic and even some mods. Boss XT-2 Xtortion ...

Re: Diezel VH4 Pedal [schematic]

While this topic is active again, does anybody recognise the "Rectifier Pre-amp" that's in the rack on the photograph in the first message? It's definitely not made by Mesa/Boogie and the knobs are often used by DIY-ers and commercial clone-ers from Russia. Turns out it's Arthur Sounds / ...

That switch is a very clever trick and I've decided that for my forthcoming Rat clone [...] Nice, keep us updated! Will do ! It might be a while before I can get to it, but it will be awesome. For a large part thanks to your work, now that the mystery of that fine sounding Danish Dirtbox is finally...

Re: Pro Co FATRAT [schematic]

Oh, I see. The values I found were for making it a permanent mod instead of making the sounds switchable. https://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=110115.msg1062115#msg1062115 Good to have the values know safely stored in a folder and I can't thank you enough for sharing so much inform...

Re: Pro Co FATRAT [schematic]

Thanks for that thorough review ! It's very interesting to read what somebody who knows the Rat circuit and sound so well thinks of these switches. Seems like it's not worth the effort for me to try and add these options to a build then, as I really like the classic stock sound already. It took some...

Re: T-Rex Mudhoney schematic [traced]

That switch is a very clever trick and I've decided that for my forthcoming Rat clone, I'm not going to experiment with values for a Ruetz-like mod. In the past, I ended up setting the pot where it sounded good and never touching it again. It was close to the stock value anyway. Experimenting with m...

Re: T-Rex Mudhoney schematic [traced]

I can't see a version number on the boards on Val's site. It's hard to make out but the board on Val's site is labeled MP V11 the same as the one in Kasper's pics. The pot date code on Val's appears to be earlier however as it is dated 7C4 where Kasper's is dated 8H2. Doh, I completely missed the l...

Re: T-Rex Mudhoney schematic [traced]

Found the "Valentinych" site: http://valentinych.ru/o-zvuke/gitarnye-effekty-firmy-t-rex/ I noticed a few differences between Kasper's and Val's schematics, but I can't see a version number on the boards on Val's site. Kasper │ Val ──────────┼────────── R1 470r │ Rb1 100r R2 10k │ Rb2 6.8k...

Re: T-Rex Mudhoney schematic [traced]

Which version of the boost switch is the older / newer / current version ? If i recall correctly, the clones made with those earlier schems didn't sound quite right. Could it be that those both were just wrong? Good point, that could very well be the case. I'm sure this is in fact the case. The old...

Re: JAM Pedals Rattler [traced]

Power supply resistor was hard to determine from the gutshots. Looks like it could be 110R, but not sure. In the other picture one band behind the wire looks like red... Anything from 47R (the stock RAT value) to, say 120R will work as the current consumption is so low that there is hardly any volt...

Re: T-Rex Mudhoney schematic [traced]

Just so I understand you; Pin 1 and Pin 3 should just switch around? Pin numbering doesn't matter. I just wasn't sure which way the boost was on. :) The 140R+1.5K just seemed to me like a way too little resistance in the feedback. I heard of people replacing the stock 100k gain pot in their Rat for...

Re: T-Rex Mudhoney schematic [traced]

Kasper, thank you for taking the time to do this ! I've seen the two earlier traces as well and always wondered about the differences. C10 has been 4.7µF in the other two Mudhoney schematics on the net as well, so I assume it's correct. It lowers the corner frequency of that RC filter from the 1539 ...

Re: JAM Pedals - Rattler [traced]

Hi everybody ! I've been feeling Ratty lately and the Jam Rattler caught my eye. The Jam Rattler Classic vs Rattler Plus video had some nice gutshots from both pedals, so I took some stills and attached them here. In the Plus, the anode of the 1N4148 sits where the anode of the LED in the Classic go...

Just found this on Reverb. It's not for a historically accurate duplicate by any means, but it looks like an affordable way to get cute little box on top of your amp. https://reverb.com/item/36156631-treble-booster-high-quality-handmade-metallic-enclosure-kit-diy-oc44 Here's a ready made one in a di...
