Re: Forum Maintenance & Development News/Announcements
A little update. Firefox updated last night and since then, there is no difference in size of the text in posts between different browsers. Being logged in or not doesn't matter any more either. So the forum software is running perfectly, Firefox is no longer acting up and my eyes are still good ...

Re: Forum Maintenance & Development News/Announcements
Thanks for taking the time to do this, but I'm not entirely certain if anything changed for me. So I did a little experiment and it is with great relief that I can tell you it is not my eyes ! There's something odd going on with Firefox, but only when logged in. In Chrome and Edge, it all ...

Re: Forum Maintenance & Development News/Announcements
A trick I've come to use very often !
Though I never had to use it here on FSB, until the most recent update. Probably a coincidence then.

Has the text gotten smaller ?
Or is it just me getting older.

Re: Advice on amp trade
To be honest, I'm glad you didn't get that Hiwatt stack ! I felt bad for advising in favour it, only to find out later that it deviated from the original circuit, was assembled with bad components and sold by crooks. I don't have any experience with any of those amps as a pedal platform for guitar ...

Re: Advice on amp trade
I didn't even know Music Ground took over the name ! Oh dear, that might be worth an extra thought or two. Your stack will always be linked to a company with malicious business practises. As for its value, a quick browse delivered a couple of MG era DR103 heads with asking prices of € 2.000 and € 2.5 ...

Somewhat related, how do you good people feel about tempered or sweetened tunings ?
I've been using the Buzz Feiten offsets with good results, even though none of my guitars have a Buzz Feiten nut.

Re: The Intonation Fiasco [schematic]
All the Gibson problems of angled bridge and inability to set the intonation would disappear if they gave it a saddle movement of 1/2 an inch like the Stratocaster. But then it wouldn't be an AuThEnTiC Gibson, the company that hasn't had a good idea in 66 years. Bring back the harmonica bridge ...

Re: Advice on amp trade
DR103, loud, clean. Did i say loud? But loud is just one thing about the DR103. Beside that, it's also loud. So, I got that dr103 is loud. :troll: What I am looking for is a pedal platform with great cleans. For the loudness I will use an attenuator. Then to answer your question, :D You'll be hard ...

Re: Pete Cornish - P-1
Do the transistors for any of the Cornish Muffs have to fall within a certain hfe-range ? They do not. All of the BC559C/550C types are consistently high enough that selection is not important. That's great to know ! Thank you for taking the time to dissect these pedals and sharing what you found.

Re: Friedman schematics: Pink Taco V2 | JJ Jr. | Runt
I did notice that, but though it was good information to include in this thread anyway.
Who knows, somebody reading this might be interested in a complete kit for an improved version, rather than modding an existing amp or building an exact duplicate from scratch.

Re: Behringer XD300 Distortion-X
It's a copy of the Boss XT-2 Xtortion. Your friend might want to look for one of those instead of another Behringer if he wants that sound again, but in a more durable package. Here's a nice video to help you with the repairs. It includes a corrected schematic and even some mods. Boss XT-2 Xtortion ...

Re: Diezel VH4 Pedal [schematic]
While this topic is active again, does anybody recognise the "Rectifier Pre-amp" that's in the rack on the photograph in the first message? It's definitely not made by Mesa/Boogie and the knobs are often used by DIY-ers and commercial clone-ers from Russia. Turns out it's Arthur Sounds / A.S. from ...
