Re: Boss - FZ-2 Hyper Fuzz [schematic]

These are the parts of the circuit where the filter (mid cut or boost) is applied in the Fuzz Modes I & II.
The bottom one is mode I, the 10k+15n is a Low pass filter cutting at around 1Khz, so ou could try to rise the capacitor to have a lower cut, hence less high/mid freq.

If anyone is interested, here's the link to the Pterodriver schematic. http://www.yerasov.ru/sites/default/files/schemas/schematic_pd-5.pdf It's still on their site, but the actual Pterodriver has been discontinued and you can't access its page from the regular menu. Re: Boss - SD-2 Dual OverDrive [schematic]

I got an old SD2 lately, what a very cool pedal it is! Btw after playing it stock for a while I performed few small mods (a good starting point was the Wampler book): Crunch Channel: C36 Jumper C47 remove D4 2x 1N4001 in series (D6 and D7 are left stock) C24 47n C12 470n Lead Channel (this is more o...

Re: Boss HM-3 Hyper Metal Mods

I love the HM2 fuzzy sound (to cover this I have an Earthbound Throat Locust), but once I also got for cheap a HM3, which i love a lot too, same very earthshaking lowend as the HM2. I like the high control having a different range than the HM2, but in order to have that same mid hump, if needed, i a...

Re: Boss - OD-2 Turbo Overdrive [schematic]

I got again a Boss OD2r after long, and I really love this overdrive. I did few mods, however, just to get more low-end out of it. I used the attached schematic, the component are marked as they are in the pedal. Also the Wampler book was a good starting point. C1, C12, C18: 100n C6, C8, C13: 47nF C...

Re: Earthquaker Devices - Monarch revision 2 - 2011 [gut sho

I'v solved the problem by putting a 150k resistor between lug3 of the Treble pot and the 1nF cap.
Now with all the pots cranked it won't "collapse".

Re: Earthquaker Devices - Monarch revision 2 - 2011 [gut sho

I?ve built this using this layout: http://tagboardeffects.blogspot.com/2014/07/earthquaker-devices-monarch-overdrive.html sounds good, but when I crank the Treble to max, it acts like as if the circuit is overloading: from overdrive it becomes a fuzzy broken radio sound, which then fades. But as soo...

Re: Boss - Metal Zone MT2 mods

I got lately for 30$ a Boss MT2 so I couldn't resist to do some mods to it. The first idea was to "transform" it into a DOD Death Metal, since the circuits (parametric mids apart) are the same more or less. but this DOD-fication was not sounding so as I was expecting. So I took also some inspiratio...

Here the full description how to add a gain knob:
http://www.lbguitar.arkku.net/dmmod/dmmod.html

Simply put a pot (100-200k) instead of R16 (120k).

Re: DOD - FX70 Stereo Flanger

looking at the schem that 500kohm pot looks like being the regeneration/feedback knob. try working on that 62k resistor. I suppose putting a higher value will limit the feedback signal and give you a more chorus sound. What you could also do/try, it's put a switch to cut that feedback loop.

Re: 9V MS20 VCF

Hello Thank you for your layout. As far as i see, there is not LP/HP switch, right ? It is "only" the MS20 lowpass, not the hipass, right ? Is there any layout with both filters in serial ? Hi, yes this is the LP part only, but you can easily modify it to have the HP as well. The layout is the same...

Re: DOD - FX25 Envelope Filter [schematic]

I got again after ages a DOD FX25B, and I did few mods to it. - C11 up to 22uF to have a better, not so quick decay. - changed R5 from 20K to 10k, this solves the volume drop and gives the filter the bite many says is missing in the FX25B. - BP/LP switch (with a volume trim on the LP side to have un...

Nope, I've sold it years ago.
