Re: Dunlop CBM95 Mini Crybaby
I also modified the second factory stock mini crybaby I used for the gut pictures. On this one I didn't do the gain/bass resistor mod. I think 430 ohm is a very well chosen value, and wouldn't go lower than 390/400 ohm. Instead raising the values of the 2 input caps (before the buffer and the wha ci...

Dunlop CBM95 Mini Crybaby
Hi all, I own since ages this Dunlop CBM95 Mini Crybaby, which I love it as it is super compact and space friendly. Lately I opened it to apply few mods (beside the 3DPT switch with bypass status LED which I already did years ago). I didn't really trace the circuit, but from the components and value...

Re: AMT - Legend Amp Series 2 [traced]
I just got 2 these pedals: the R2 and the K2. Both sound stellar but the clean channel on the K2 to my surprise is more gainy and brighter, like there's a high knob fully open. R2's clean sounds better, more balanced and fuller. I was thinking in a different tolerance in the transistors around clean...

Re: Roland - AD-50 ( Double Beat ) [schematic]
I've built a Double Beat Fuzz yesterday using the Aion FX Argus PCB. I did few mods to have more bass and gain range available, and reworked a bit the left tone switch position as it was cutting way to many highs for my taste. I played also with the transistors and came up with this coktail of BC107...

Re: EH - Bass Micro Synth
This is a "factory schematic" I found years ago. I think it is super accurate, as I used to have a Micro Synthesizer (a 90s reissue) at some point, which I modified to Bass spec (the values are reported on the first page), and twisted a bit the octave circuit to have a better sounding octa...

Re: JHS/EHX Lizard Queen
Yes... Lizard Queen it's an amazing recycling of late 90s/early 2000s DIY knowledge!!!
Caps: considering the idea behind ("70s design" with limited resources) all 100nF and 10uF for the elcos. Whereas I would use at least 100uF for C7 and C8 to have a nice power supply filtering.

Re: Boss DS2 mods
After ages I've got an old DS2 again: I must admit these old Boss pedals hold very well after so many years! I was very happy with the base stock tone, but did few mods tiny mods, to have more and better low-end: C12, C40: 100nF C41: 4n7 C33: 1uF R57: 3k3 C28: 33nF Don't expect a HM2 with the bass c...

Re: Strymon - Timeline, Mobius, BlueSky guts
In case you need replacement encoders for the big Strymon boxes, this one is a perfect match: Bourns PEC11R-4220F-S0024 (Incremental Encoder 24 PPR ... 5V 60min-1) After years of use I had to replace the encoders on my Timeline, but since I live in Europe it was too much to order a 4$ part with 15$ ...

Re: Earthbound Audio Pale Mare [traced]
Very cool, I took a look at the demo your pedal:it's a cool take on the BeeBaa! I like the idea you had with the 2 tone-shift controls!
For my BeeBaa/Pale Mare I got also some MPSA13/14/18 to test in Q1 (for example the EA Supercollider use a MPSA13 in Q1).

Re: Earthbound Audio Pale Mare [traced]
I had a chat with Mr. Earthbound Audio himself, and he was kind enough to share some technical details about the Pale Male! The scoop filter can either be tuned like the BeeBaa (47k/22k/2.2.nF/100nF, scoop center 330Hz) or the Superfuzz (22k/10k/1nF/100nF, scoop center 1100Hz, schematic shows now th...

Re: LAL GM2 Green Monster (Lastgasp Art Laboratories) [traced]
I've built a Green Monster clone following digi2t schematic and using his Deadend FX board: I compared it with the original LAL, and it totally nails the original GM!
Plus the Deadend FX has an additional switch to increase the gain in the IC1 stage, which is a nice addition to this noise maker.

Re: LAL GMR Gomorrah (Lastgasp Art Laboratories)
Check the 1M resistor going to Vr... the one on Q1 is connected to the Emitter, not the Base. Also the switch with the 2 condensators is different.
Did anybody test Krystal schematic and successfully built the pedal based on that?

Note that Deadend FX released a PCB for the Gomorrah, called Deuteronomy!
Their schematic is 100% proof. Krystal schem has few mistakes.

Re: LAL GM2 Green Monster (Lastgasp Art Laboratories) [traced]
Sorry for the mess with the pots. I confirm Sens3 is 50kB all others (Vol, Sens1+2) are 10kB!!! The "power diodes" diodes: the zener is the LED protection only, the other polarity power protection and looks like a 1N400x. Note the wiring: when you bypass the pedal you also remove the elect...

Re: LAL GMR Gomorrah (Lastgasp Art Laboratories)
You're welcome Kristal, and thank you for the schematic! Note that 2SC1815 transistors have a flipped pin layout than most transistors (like BC153 or 2N5088), which is ECB instead of EBC. The markings on the Gomorrah transistors are genuine and don't look faked or modified! https://components101.com...

Transistors are classic Japanese C1815 (se my last noted picture).
PCB is 22x39mm
This is the best straight shot I was able to take.
