Re: JHS Charlie Brown?
Does the gain control crackle? Only if you want https://www.freestompboxes.org/viewtopic.php?t=3971 No - I meant if the Charlie Brown specifically crackles as the gain is adjusted. I know all of those Vex pedals do. If not, there are other options to not having that noise, like using something more...

Does the gain control crackle? That should be another dead giveaway.

3 BS170
some 22nF caps
one diode near to the 1st BS170
47K and 10nF near to the TONE pot
2 2n2 in the end
That's a Box of Rock without the booster and some minor changes

Re: MESA Grid Slammer tracing (schematic and vero layout ins [schematic]
It seems there's a 3mm red led missing in the schematic Top right in the original board. I don't think that's for clipping purposes Yes, the 3mm led is not in the signalpath so I decided to exclude it (along with led resistors and switching). I don't understand the purpose of the 3mm led really.. I...

Worst! Some idiots think that white washer means true bypass.Fuzzer wrote:Actually I suggested that to my friend Dirk, but the guy insists in having it. I like it in some pedals, though, I don't know why.
I saw once, of course on Facebook.

You are a respected member of this forum and also the DIY world.
For this reason, respect should be mutual, I guess.
Please, don't play the stupid.
You know what I mean, when I kindly asked for trimpots adjustments.
If our colleague can read these adjustments would be fine.

Sweet!
Could you pelase, measure the trimpots? voltages or reisitance.
Tks!

Re: MXR Custom Badass '78 Distortion [schematic]
i wonder if those diodes could be forming a rectifier bridge. I've read that one way to prevent AC power from killing DC circuits is to have a rectifier in the way. It will still pass the DC just somewhat lower. Your on the right track there Coldcraft, two of the diodes are forming a bridge with th...

Note that some of "transistors" could be diodes. They have the same enclosure.
Check the SMD code in the internet
