You're looking for a 2.1mm DC Jack, Small Bear has a couple of designs available. Remember to go for the insulated type if you are using a normal centre negative wiring. The round ones are the easiest to fit.

Re: Desoldering without braid
You should be fine as long as you don't leave the iron on the parts too long and overheat them - then again I've never managed to damage a component this way and I was pretty cack handed with my iron when I started out. Some times the little bits of solder left on the component leads can make them d...

Re: Inkscape and Gimp - Tips and Templates for Stompboxes
Hi Eloy, nice tutorial. If your interested I have an extension script for Inkscape that automates drawing tick marks and numbers around a pot scale. It's not finished (more functionality and error checking needed) but it works. I'll post a copy here in the next day or so (not at home now).

Re: Inkscape templates
Anyone got 4knob drilling template like the hermida audio?? The component library I posted above has all you need to create your own. The beauty of something like inkscape is that you can quickly and easily make up accurate templates using a bunch of standard components. I've just spent today writi...

Re: Noob question on connectors
Stereo (Tip, Ring and Sleeve) connectors are often used on the input of effects so that the power is disconnected from the battery when the input cable is removed. This works with a standard (mono) instrument cable and prevents your battery going flat when not in use (as long as you unplug the cable...

Re: Inkscape templates
Cool, I've recently started using inkscape for my drill templates and artwork. I've been building up a component library and planned to upload to the inkscape site. I've attached what I've got so far below.
