Re: Blackstar HT Dual

Hi Ryan, I have a similar unit. It is Blackstar HT-Metal and maybe you can give me some advice on where on the circuit could be the problem? It stopped responding to pressing switches and does not produce overdriven sound anymore. LED's also do not produce light anymore. Only bypass clean sound goe...

Re: Boss DD-6 service notes

So this pedal has been sat around for a few weeks. I finally got around to looking at it in detail. Its a complex SMD board. Several op amps for the audio. Other ICs for A/D, D/A, DSP, small RAM, and what I assume is a CPU (marked BOSS BO2DD6). - Unit is dead. No lights at all. No sound. Switch does...

Re: Blackstar HT Dual

Thank you for getting back. No, they gave me nothing back. So are BOTH switches momentary switches? I have a friend who Is a technician and he is looking into it. Yes - both footswitches (marked SW2 and SW3) on the schematic are non-latching i.e. momentary DPDT. The only latching switch is SW2 whic...

Re: Korg DTR-1000 Tuner advice please... [schematic]

Final update: Received the "new" board; I say "new" as the part is NOS and labelled 2014! The replacement had a lot of dulled solder joins and residue around the connectors. So needed some cleaning. Fitted it - tuner works. However one segment of the LED display was not functioni...

Re: Blackstar HT Dual

Kossofos
I think the switches are momentary as the switching is done by FETs and an IC.
A latching type would not in that situation.
Did the give you the old switch back? Can you test it???

Re: Korg DTR-1000 Tuner advice please... [schematic]

So, update on this. I replaced the BA10358 op amp. Getting a good output. Still distorted but less harsh. I don't have a scope so cant "see" it, but this op amp stage is clearly boosting the signal prior to measurement in the microprocessor EPROM. I've checked all the power rails for corre...

Re: Boss DD-6 service notes

Mauman
Many thanks for the response. I will certainly give that a try. I did approach Roland/Boss for service notes; unsuccessful as expected.
Once I have opportunity I will have a closer look at the unit.
Good tip approaching their technical team. Will certainly try this if needed.

Boss DD-6 service notes

Would anyone have a schematic or service notes for the Boss DD-6. I bought one over the weekend. Totally dead as described. No light or sound at all. Hoping it's just a power problem. Found a post on another forum that suggests it could be the IC6 5v regulator. Will check that first. As well as chec...

Re: Boss DD-6 Hi-Cut mod

Bumping this really old thread.
Has anyone managed to source a copy of the dd-6 service notes.
I bought one recently that's dead. And now realise I can't find a schematic anywhere

Re: Korg DTR-1000 Tuner advice please... [schematic]

@X-tn @mediy Thanks for your responses. I'm going to sit down later and work through the schematics. They are a bit hard to follow with 5v power rails being routed all over the place across the different boards. In one instance 5v is being supplied to the from board at 2 places, so need to check the...

Re: Korg DTR-1000 Tuner advice please... [schematic]

So, I had a frustrating evening with this project. I managed to get the op amp off quite easily. Fitted an LM358... still no tuner. There appeared to be a very distorted signal at the opamp pin 7 output. I traced this distorted signal to the tuner input. So it appears to be getting to the processing...

Re: Korg DTR-1000 Tuner advice please... [schematic]

I am sorry that this does not help you. It is often the problem of the minimum order amount, there remains only the possibility to order other items to exceed this limit. Remains only to buy the IC somewhere cheap and hope that it is not a fake. Absolutely - I dont order from Didikey or Mouser ofte...

Re: Korg DTR-1000 Tuner advice please... [schematic]

An alternative would be to use the SMD version of the BA10358F the BA10358F E2, and solder it to a SOP8 to DIL-8 adapter. You can find the BA10358F through-hole version on the net, but only very expensive and from countries where you have to be careful not to buy a fake. Manfred. Its actually an SM...

Re: Korg DTR-1000 Tuner advice please... [schematic]

Yes, an LM358 will work fine, it has a similar supply voltage range, offset voltages and bias currents. Ground sensing means that with a single supply voltage (like +9V and ground), the input can go as low as the negative rail = ground, but not necessarily as high as the positive rail = 9V. Rail to...

Korg DTR-1000 Tuner advice please... [schematic]

Hey I obtained a KORG DTR-1000 from ebay. Attempting to fix it. There is no input getting to the tuner section. Power and tuner lights come on. I've confirmed that the power supply, and mute relay circuit is all working correctly. So that leaves the FET/Op Amp input to the tuner. Using signal tracin...

Re: Analogman - Buffer

Fair enough. I thought you had some gut shots from a youtube video as well :) I misled you there. I was inspired to reverse this buffer, as I had seen a video on youtube where Analogman demonstrates the buffer in front of an Ernie Ball VP. No close ups of the board though. At higher frequencies C53...

Re: Analogman - Buffer

@grrrunge Many thanks! Some progress on the project. The photos I found and used to trace my schematic were the same ones you found. I guessed some of the values for the buffer. Assume this would be a bipolar transistor, but could be a FET? Re R55, I wasn't sure whether this should feedback to the C...
