Changing an EQ Level pot's value

I've searched and can't seem to find how the level pot's value works with the EQ. I want to mod my Boss HM2's tone at the High. At the moment the mids and highs are tied together with one 10kB tone pot. They look like fixed bands like you would find in a regular EQ pedal, does that mean it gives +/-...

Re: Colorsound - Tremolo

Here's my earlier version, the same as Stephen's notice the trim pot that's not on the pre-75's https://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w283/ChristoMephisto/PC090087.jpg Built a clone of it using MPSA13 and some 5088, changed the Rate pot to reverse audio (250k), kept the Depth at 2M In mine the trim po...

Re: Cheap Pedals : Behringer

Rehoused the Ultra Vibrato into an old Boss chassis
rewired the momentary switch to the boss type, and hardwired it for latch
had access to an industrial grade solder sucker, so it was easy to remove the pots, jacks and power supply
oh, you also need a stereo switch-tip jack for the output

Re: Fetzer Valve in a OD1 clone?

I tried spicing in the Fetzer and after two hours with a breadboard and wires sticking out couldn't get it to work... moving on to another mod... already had multiple clipping, gain, bass... also tried hard clipping with two Ge's as a tip, if you do convert a SD1 to an OD1, change the caps and resis...

Re: Fetzer Valve in a OD1 clone?

That's perfect!! Wasn't sure about leaving the 10k resistor in or not
Went to go dig out some J201s i thought i had, they were BS170, and found a couple 2N5457
Might try those and order a few J201s

Re: Fetzer Valve in a OD1 clone?

Here's a link to the OD1, pretty much like the SD1/TS
http://www.hobby-hour.com/electronics/s ... rdrive.php
So I can basically replace R7 on the OD1 with the Fetzer from the 33k input resistor to the 47n cap at the end?
I get the idea of the 10uf cap, at the input of the Fetzer part?

Fetzer Valve in a OD1 clone?

Instead of going through the bother of adding a 12AX7 tube to a Boss OD1 clone i have, is it possible to add a Fetzer Valve to the mix? Looked around and there's not too many sites that show where to add the tube expect this place http://screamertube.blogspot.com/ Going with that and the Fetzer at R...

Re: Dunlop - Cry Baby GCB-95: how to improve it for cheap

iirc the 82k-100k resistor helps bias Q1, along with the 330-510 ohm resistor, but that helps with the gain.
go with the suggested 100k/4uf combo and tweek the 33k in parallel for the sweet spot

Re: Dunlop - Cry Baby GCB-95: how to improve it for cheap

I'm building a Wizard Wah clone with a V846 clone pcb and a dark red fasel, tropical fish caps and a few mods, other than why the input cap and resistor are reversed on the old Vox V846 to modern wahs... The Wizard wah has an input cap of 0.015 and the mids resistor 1k6, this got me thinking of the ...

So with a 0.068 its about 130Hz, and with a 0.01, you get 884Hz
your .47 yielded about 18Hz, stock is .9

makes me want to go and pull it out and play it now... :D

Yeah, have that page bookmarked too, can't translate the damn thing, looks like it has lots of good info Seems there is a bit of discretion who was making what when. Re: Which pedal to mod to make a vibrato like?

You can mod the Boss CE2, BF2, and HF2 with the Vibrato mod but because of how the pedals are designed, the whole pedal and signal coming out of is killed when its disengaged (turned off) http://www.erikhansen.net/?page_id=26 This shows how to add a small bypass circuit to overcome this. If you have...

Re: Thomas Organ Co. - Cry Baby Stereo Fuzz Wah

Was looking at the old datasheets from the 70's, and the 5115 (2N3405) are suited for high level linear amplifiers. The 5117 (2N2925) are in the old wahs and practically the same as the 2N2924 transistors from the original wah schems. Wouldn't that make them backwards in the suited application? Got ...

Re: BOSS GE-7 RIP-OFF

If you have the schems so you know where what is, you can change the frequency with a EQ calculator.
There's one here at http://www.geocities.jp/dgb_studio/index_e.htm under Electronic Circuits
For example, if you swap the C13 in the MIJ GE-7 from .056 to .047 will shift it from 100Hz to 125Hz
