Re: Dunlop - GCB-95F Crybaby Classic Wah Wah [schematic]

Greetings,

Sorry ressurecting this topic. Could someone check C12 again? 1nF plus 4k7 sets bass rolloff frequency at 33kHz. Is that correct?

Thanks in advance.

Marshall MG15 (Blues Breaker as preamp mod)

Hi, everyone. I tried to mod a MG15 clone circuit to a blues breaker to be used as the preamp. I lost a lot of the signal level. Only difference is no input resistor or capacitor jack in is tied directly to + (3) of the opamp and there's a 1M resistor tied to ground. Any input would be really apprec...

Re: Zvex - Probe series

Greetings, Could an FET or a BJT be used instead of LDR in this type of circuit? Morley substituted the LDR by a Phototransistor in his pedals (guess due to the higher speed compared to the LDR). I plan to use a potentiometer to control the BJT or FET instead of a pot controlling an LED pointing to ...

Re: Rocktron - Austin Gold Overdrive [schematic]

Greetings, I've got one here for repairing. The capacitor in series with 620r is 22u and it is oriented with + side to vcc or gnd (didn't check if it's ground or vcc but it is oriented reversed from the way we usually see). CIs are JRC5532DD, HD14016BP (instead of 40106N) and HD14584BP (instead of 4...

I just finished the drive side of the circuit. Here's the schematic so far. Why can't I edit my posts so I don't flood the topic with updates?

Re: MXR - Custom Audio Electronics - Boost/Overdrive MC-402 [schematic]

I've already tried other opamps (TL072 and NE5532). I shorted R1 (470r in series with power supply) and got the same problem. I've also made sure to disconnect all the FETs (removed them) from the signal so they're not the cause. The signal with no power supply connected is strong as it should till ...

Sorry, I don't know how to upload the images here. Here's the link for download: https://www.4shared.com/photo/ch79All5ei/402.html# I removed the fets that connect to the input and output. Problem remains the same as described. Here are the voltages. My power supply has an output of 7.98V. 1 - 2,76V...

Re: MXR - Custom Audio Electronics - Boost/Overdrive MC-402 [schematic]

Greetings, I've got one of these and had a chance to mess around with it. The overdrive section has a blatting sound problem, so when trying to fix it, I took the opportunity to trace the circuit (actually part of it till now). The equation you posted above works exactly as AMZ's. What confuses me are the numbers he mentioned in his book and how he got them. Was that a mistake?

Could it be something based on the plextortion? It looks like so.

Re: Boss - HM-2 Heavy Metal [schematic]

Greetings, I was looking into Brian Wampler's "How to modify effect pedals for maximum tone" book and got into a weird stuff (just the info, not the result) about the HM-2 mods. The frequency he states for the gyrators are tottaly out of the values I've got when I threw them into the amz c...

Re: Dunlop - JH-1 Jimi Hendrix Wah [schematic]

Greetings,

How does the 330pF capacitor modify the response (the taper?) of the potentiometer? Is there a math to calculate its influence and to determine the changes in frequency according to the pot rotation?

Thanks in advance

Greetings,

If someone has the capaitor values of the wampler plextortion or the full schematic, I'm pretty sure that's what v3 is.

Best regards,

Greetings, The black Dunlop Standard Inductor is the same thing if you open one up (don´t, it´s easily ruined. I can post one here if desired) Could you post it, please? I really can't hear this mojo magic when comparing them in the same circuit (even in different circuits with same part values). I ...

Re: single to dual supply

Greetings, Thanks for the answers. So in essence, would it be the same if I just use the MAX1044 as a voltage doubler to create a single supply (18V) instead of a dual supply? I have been searching about it but I don't really know how to search for it. Could you please explain me the differences bet...

Does this schematic make sense?

single to dual supply

Greetings, How can I convert a single supply circuit into a dual supply? For example a simple project such as dod250 or dist+? Should I only consider (single/dual) V+/V+, Vref/Gnd, 0V/V- ? I plan to use a MAX1044 to generate the -9V for tests. Are there any other changes I should make to the circuit...

Re: Bearfoot FX - Model H [traced]

Greetings,

What are the differences between the 3 knobs version and the 4 knobs version? I plan to trace a layout for it but I thought it would be nice to add the fourth control (treble). What should I add, eliminate or change according to the scheme posted in this topic?

Thanks in advance

Re: Rockton Tri-Wah Schematic (Verified) [schematic]

Greetings, I've been looking around this wah pedal and I decided to do a layout for it. I got really interested in some points that it differs from the original crybaby circuit such as the 270k resistor and the 56k resistor connected in series with the 104 capacitor from the emmiter of Q3 to ground....
