Re: DIY Parts in dealextreme.com
Indeed. Delivery times above 1 month are standard for DX. Loads of worst chinese quality stuff and counterfeits too.jubal81 wrote:Be forewarned: It took three months for me to get a desoldering pump I ordered from there.

Re: Tayda Electronics
I admit I haven't ordered from them recently but in June the shipments arrived within 2 weeks (to EU) which is quite good from Asia.
Zero problems yet, good components at good prices.

Re: Yamaha E1010 Analog Delay [schematic]
Guys, sorry for resurrecting this ancient thread. A buddy of mine has one of these in his possession and I think it sounds fabulous. I was asked to make him a footswitch for it. Am I right (according to the schematic) that I can use a simple SPST latching footswitch connected through a mono jack? Th...

Re: KLON BUFFER VERO
I use singles alot. LM301, NE5534, LF411, CA3130 & 3140, 741... these are all very useful to have around. Most singles share the same pinout so you can swap 'em just like the duals. LF412 is the dual version of the LF411, same pinout as all the other duals. Here LF412 costs 3 times a TL072. Nev...

Re: KLON BUFFER VERO
Hey, why are you guys wasting half a TL072? You could just use a TL071 and have the same circuit without the wasted extra opamp. You should consider trying it with an LF411 as well. It's a similar JFET input type, but has better overall spec. Yes indeed you are right. Let me explain: since a lot of...

Ok I did another one because I don't like standing resistors - thanks IvIark for spoiling me :) And to ground the inputs of the unused half of the TL072 (and I don't have TL071's on hand) http://ompldr.org/vZWNoNw/klonbuffer-vero.jpeg Red is +9V, Black is ground, Yellow is input, Green is output I'...

Re: Do-It-Yourself Layout Creator [freeware] -- Updates log [link]
for what its worth, I have isolated my DIYLC crash problems on OSX 10.7.3 to the text function! As long as I dont add text to the layout everything works great. Ive just been adding text after the fact in Photoshop for the time being. This. I experienced the same thing. Plus adding images also wrea...

Re: Soul Sonic - Folk Driver, The Honey Bee Challenge!
Yeah, I'm not sure about it either. I never bonded with it. I built a Honey Bee clone too and the two are very different. The funny thing is I gave this to a professional musician friend who really liked it for..... BASS. And they use it live on their gigs where the bass player needs some distortion...

Re: Solid state Amp discussion allowed (of course!)
and this could make it more flexible too... maybe the SBEQ as a preamp, and a cab sim as well and have them switchable.. Exactly. This was my plan too. I built a SBEQ in front of the Tiny Giant in the same 1590BB enclosure. Now it belongs to a bass player friend of mine as I still did not like it. ...

Ok, maybe all you need for these to sound great is a good preamp. Or a POD, or something like that.

Re: Solid state Amp discussion allowed (of course!)
There is Taylor's Tiny Giant amp at http://musicpcb.com/pcbs/tiny-giant-amp/ 12V-18V - 10-15W I've built this into a 1590BB with a BJF Sea Blue EQ as preamp. http://ompldr.org/vZGN5Zw To be honest I did not like it. Just as I did not like the Ruby. :( what is it you didn't like about it? (or the ru...

You know the clipping diodes are fine as they are now as long as facing the opposite directions

Re: Fred Briggs - E11even - Marshall Boost/OD
Well, ok, this might be my bad. I used too small size for the diode symbol on the layout. Should have used larger where the two colors are not covering equal areas. White denotes the cathode of the diode in the layout. I think all diodes have the cathode marked. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia...
