Re: Tech21 - Character Series. [schematic]

With my VT Bass cabsim bypass project getting more complicated I figured that I would do a simple mod to my Joyo AC Tone to make it more like the Liverpool by removing one resistor (R9, I think). Great plan only the PCB in my AC Tone is completely different from the one in the AC Tone thread. :( The...

Re: Joyo - AC Tone [schematic]

This is a really great thread and I put together a PDF with the initial posts along with their attached drawings and added in the Liverpool schematic from another thread. I have attached the file to this message or you can view and download it from my page on Box.com: https://www.box.com/s/t0yj65rsh...

Re: Tech21 - Character Series. [schematic]

Glad to see you checking in, 12Bass- I have been studying all of your posts here about adding the cabsim bypass switch to your VT Bass. I was going to suggest starting your own thread specifically about wiring up cabsim switches so the information isn't buried in 19 pages with 350+ posts. Can you po...

Re: Tech21 - Character Series. [schematic]

Here is a folder on my Box.com page that has all of the drawings that I have collected from this thread. I will continue to add more files to this folder. https://www.box.com/s/264rqj7469bk2wz3fqak New twist on game plan for cabsim bypass on my "Version WTF" VT Bass: rather than focusing o...

VT Bass Version WTF cabsim bypass [schematic]

I came up with a game plan to add a cabsim bypass to my "Version WTF" VT Bass. I can tap the bypass signal from either Pin 6 of the module or a pair of copper pads which have a resistance of 22k to P6. There are 3 pair of double pads near the module- the pair closest to the module has a 22...

Re: Tech21 - Character Series. [schematic]

Yikes- the PCB on my VT Bass does not look the same as the other boards posted here. :? The markings on the back of the board are: UV_21 1020 HS3 . . . 94V-0 The "1020" appears to be a date code punched into a light block on the pcb The 8 pin module is CH34-6 It looks like I may have to re...

Re: Tech21 - Character Series. [schematic]

Link to stylized drawing of latest version of speaker sim bypass mod (basic, not showing capacitor for reducing treble, pot mod etc.) Component J2 (pointed by purple arrow with a cross) must be unsoldered and removed. Thanks for the color-coded drawing! A slightly different approach occurred to me ...

Re: Tech21 - Character Series. [schematic]

I found the answers to those questions:
C11 would be tapped at its junction with R13 and R14
It looks like Terminal 1 of the pots in the schematic would be the "cold" terminal (the grounded terminal on a typical volume control.)

Now I just need to find where to connect the pre-sim signal...

Re: Tech21 - Character Series. [schematic]

I think that taking the pre-sim signal after C11 is a definite improvement from the previous bypass arrangement; the level discrepancy is far more manageable. Looking at the follow drawing which terminal of C11 are you referring to? (I haven't located the schematic in this thread yet- I was waiting...

Re: Tech21 - Character Series. [schematic]

Finally, because the pedal is so bright sounding, most VT Bass users end up keeping the treble well below 12:00, often closer to around 9:00. To mitigate this, I inserted a 22 k resistor between legs 1 and 2 of the treble potentiometer; this tames the overall brightness and makes the range of the t...

Re: Baja B K Butler Tube Driver [schematic]

I was wondering if anyone has a schematic for the Chandler rack mount TDR-101 Tube Driver. It is quite different from the original 4 knob pedal- which I bought in 1986/7 but traded in a year later for the rackmount version. :slap: (I should have gotten suspicious when the store was offering me the f...
