Haha. I just tried a 10k pot in place of the R5. It kind of takes my build a few inches closer to working, with another 20 metres or so before it became useful or useable. Still no sustain, and certainly no reliable range of sounds. Lots of dead spots around the dials where no sound comes through at...

It would be a great sanity check to see and/or hear one of these working as per the original pedal.

I soldered in a 3K resistor instead of the 10K. Didn't help.

Still no sustain, and OSC mode works maybe a bit worse than before (no sound coming through)...

Definitely well worth considering! The 2N5306 are definitely a good choice if you want to confuse cloners out there! I just discovered that 2N5306 factor yesterday too! Two different pin-outs.

I was going to try switching mine around today. I'll see how it goes.

Sounds like your build is exactly the same as mine. Sound cuts out too early, before the strings have really stopped vibrating.
