This version looks a bit more complex:

A friend sent me a diy pcb, where this cap is omitted, and it would be quite difficult to add it.

10µF doesn't cut any audible bass frequencies. The cap is for DC decoupling. But my question was, if this is necessary at this position?

What`s the purpose of C5 in the original schematic?

I`m looking for the complete schematics of the Blade VSC3 preamp. All I can find is the mid boost part and lots of dead links...

Does a full schematic of the VSC-3 circuit exist? I`d modify it for use with a symmetrical power supply ( +/- 9V from two batteries) and build it inside a guitar, with all controls at the top...

I want to build a FA-1 as onboard preamp inside the guitar. As there is a compartment for two batteries, I'll use a symmetrical power supply (+/-9V).
How do I have to connect the gate of the FET? In the original unit, the 3M3 restistor goes to a voltage divider, close to 3V.
