Re: Small Stone Voltages
Thanks for the offer but I've sorted this now. Maybe I should measure them for the nest time I make one and need to trace it...

Small Stone Voltages
Hi, I've just rebuilt a Small Stone phaser from the tagboard layout:
and am having some issues tracing the board - I've built one a while ago, so I know that the layout is good, but does anyone have voltages for this particular version of the circuit?

Looking at the schematic there's very little else to go wrong. Check your voltages at the IC pins.

Re: Tech21 - Sansamp Bass Driver [schematic]
Could the TLC2264 be replaced with any other dual opamp (another TL074 for instance), or does it have to be that particular chip for the drive sound?

Re: Troglodyte fuzz transistors
Not so much of a muff tone, a bit more abrasive in the mids.

Re: Troglodyte fuzz transistors
Turns out it's really good with two Is NPNs with a Hfe of 150ish!

Troglodyte fuzz transistors
Hi, I'm putting together a Troglodyte fuzz from the layout on dirtboxlayouts.blogspot and just wondered how critical the choice of NPNs are for Q1 and Q2. I've got a couple of low hfe (≈150) and just figured I'd throw them in there and see.

ZVEX Basstortion
Does anyone have a schematic for this, or know how it differs from the Distortron i.e. just bigger caps for ins/out and feedback loop?

Re: Okko FX Motörbass Lemmy's Tone
For what it's worth, this sounds more like a RAT for bass (like a Blowerbox Idiotbox), but less good. I don't think it gets anywhere near Lemmy's tone.

Re: BAJA Ampeg SVT bass amplifier pedal 9v 010418 [documentation]
Would I be ok to take a feed to an active (TL072) DI circuit at the point just before the last gain stage?
I’m thinking of taking a feed from in between the 2n2 and IC2b.

Testing Wah Inductors
Hi. Does anyone know the best way to test if a way inductor is dicky or not, I've built a simple wah on strip board using a verified layout, but don';t have any signal passing through it. I just wondered how other DIY builders check their indictors.

Thanks for that, turns out that there was indeed a tiny, tiny solder bridge, that old chestnut.
Everything is sweeping along like 1978 again now thanks.

Small stone power issue
I’m currently struggling with the small stone layout from tagboardeffects.blogspot. I’m not getting any power to the ICs, but my build keeps frying the BC337 transistor on the power supply end of the circuit. Has anyone experienced this problem and has a solution?

Small Clone power supply
I'm experimenting with the EHX Small clone, but don't really understand why they put the transistor at the start of the circuit, why not just have a bit of filtering instead of the extra stuff.
Just curious.
I should add, I'm using two LM13700 OTA Ics instead of multiple CA3094s.

Re: 555 Voltage Doubler
I'm toying with using a doubler for a 12v supply (to provide roughly 24v) for a class D power amp that draws 20mA and use the 12v to run the Baja Orange AD200B preamp. Any reason why this is a bad idea?

Re: Lovetone - Meatball [traced]
OK. still dipping in and out of this project. All of my controls seem to be doing what they should - they change the sound and filter off frequencies that I would expect, but I don't have any sweep - the LEDs light up whenever they are triggered, so I'm assuming that the 1458 is doing what it should...

Is the mode switch 1, 2, 5 & 6 in the middle position, or 2, 3, 4 & 5?
Assuming conventional

Re: BAJA Ampeg SVT bass amplifier pedal 9v 010418 [documentation]
TL072s are a JFET based opamp, so they've got the box ticked. The mids control on this makes ll the difference between the and lots of other 'SVT style' preamps.

Re: BAJA Ampeg SVT bass amplifier pedal 9v 010418 [documentation]
I mean...I'm completely okay with it distorting where it does. Mostly curious whether I screwed something up. Good to know about removing those diodes in case I change my mind though. I dropped the value of the gain pot to something tiny (I think 5 or 10k) and compensated by increasing the gain bet...

Re: Chunk Systems - Agent 00FUNK! [traced]
Is it ok to substitute the LM324 with another TL074? I'm not terribly au fait with opamps, so any advice is gratefully received.
