Mad Professor Dual Blue Delay

Hi. I think this post could be considered one that would fit to more than one category here. But i got guts. So here you go. A friend called me up and told that his dual blue delay had died. I said i can take a look. Mainly because i thought the pedal would be derived from the original Deep Blue. Sy...

Re: Ibanez - FL-303 ( Flanger) [schematic]

Sad indeed. I only recall seeing one or two dead ones. In this case i want to be completely sure before calling it. Mainly due to everything else (box etc.) being in near pristine condition. Paying ~100 bucks for a used donor part isn't an option. The box has a price sticker on it as well. A local m...

Re: Ibanez - FL-303 ( Flanger) [schematic]

Hi. I'm trying to fix one, board revision B. It's an old unit, but in very nice overall condition. Even has the box, papers and stickers intact. According to cap codes, this unit is from '78. There seemed to be an issue with the LFO, so i replaced C122 and C12 with suitable new caps. Got the LFO and...

Re: Profi 402 Super Over Drive

Turns out, i can't edit my posts. Whatever. I don't know how much your bud has paid for it, but we occasionally see them @ flea markets selling, u dunno, for 20-25$ or so. They are really not worth the 100-150$ that some ebay/reverb gopniks are asking for em. Also i've seen some sort of schematic o...

Re: Profi 402 Super Over Drive

This pedal is not worth it to collect, on the name chips, and not the date. You can replace with 2 chips 4558, but you have to do another wiring. At us such costs 16 $, sounds sand, it is similar to the Boss. Good luck !!! What? In your "expert opinion" the low production number russian pedals that...

Profi 402 Super Over Drive

A friend of mine got this through ebay and snapped a few shots. He's somewhat a pedal freak and should be considered one of the collector gods :) (http://my.effectsdatabase.com/user/linden_tku) Apparently built in Leningrad/St. Petersburg around 1992. Or at least that's the educated guess. This woul...

Re: Symmetrical power supply

I have read that in such circuit (i'm referring to the 12V daughter board on vero), the ground is "shared by the input and the output" : does this mean that i should wire both the DC ground and the circuit ground to the single hole at the bottom right of the veroboard ? Yes. All grounds are connect...

Re: Zvex '59 Sound [traced]

Nocentelli: Possibly something like this? The BMP-tone is replaced with a stock Fender stack from Tonestack calc and followed by a recovery stage (as the stack takes more than 10db away) before the output filtering.

If i'm correct, this would make a decent fender amp emulation / drive pedal.

Caline CP-30 Red Devil Heavy Metal

I was a bit afraid this would be yet another distortius maximus, but slight hope of seeing a pinnacle got me buying one. Nope. None of the above. Three 4558s, volume and gain A100K, bass C50K, mids A100K and treble A50K. No guesses from me at the moment as i won't have the time to trace it anytime s...

Caline CP-25 Highway Man (and CP-12 Pure Sky)

Hmm. Caline catalog is becoming quite puzzling one. These two here. Same f*king circuit. Paul Cochrane Timmy. 4558D, no switch for clipping, just the four 4148s for both. Highway Man has linear and log pots for bass/treble and Pure Sky has them at C50K. Pure Sky has designation screen prints under t...

Caline CP-32 Clear Veil Overdrive Fuzz

This is definitely something i didn't wish to see. Heavy disappointment. It's exactly the same as CP-11 Puffer Fuzz, with ust two cap values changed. And this makes it sound even worse than the Puffer. Highly moddable to get a decent fuzz face though. Worst caline "design" i've seen so far. Caline C...

Re: Zvex - Fuzz Factory [traced]

Hi all! any news/info about the FAT version of this? TY Madbean's Zombii diy project suggests that the fat switch is a 1M resistor and a 10µ cap in parallel with 100n between 3904 stage and germanium stage. The switch shorts out the 1M. Haven't seen the original fat version guts, so i can't confirm...

Re: Danelectro - N-10 Honeytone amp [schematic]

Drew this on a stripboard in case some might want to tweak it. I suspect it'll be a nice 1 watter, if one gives it a decent speaker cone and a wooden housing.

Caline CP-22 Purple Smoke Clean Boost

Got mine in the mail today. Tried it out and it sounded like there was a bit too much low cut for my taste. Figured that this won't be all that big of an issue, so i fixed mine by replacing the 1µ bypass cap with 47µ. Sure, the "clean" isn't there anymore when the gain pot is maxed. I do find this q...

Caline CP-11 Puffer Fuzz [schematic]

Someone on this forum suggested this might be a Fooltone '70 clone and as these sell for peanuts, i wanted to try one. Came in the mail today. Fooltone '70 - bullshit. It's a basic Si FF with rheostat in front of it. Sounds horrible. To call this abysmal would be a praise. Highly moddable, but still...

Re: Barber - Tone Press

Seems like solder side photos were gone, so here you go. Got mine with clean signal path dead and traced the problem to both 5457s of the µamp being shorted. No idea how that happened. Swapped those for new ones and it's very nice sounding thing. And since i've mostly seen "parallel compression" don...
