Re: Earthquaker Devices - Ghost Echo [traced]

Looking at the schematic, the feedback and it's dwell control is taken from the output of the mxing output stage, which looks like a differential amp. Does this arrangement contribute to a special sound or why has it been done this way? https://www.freestompboxes.org/download/file.php?id=20727&m...

Re: BAJA UBS overdrive pedal project 300118 [documentation]

Thanks for the doc.! I already built the VH-4 emulator and love how it sounds. How about using the PCB board from the VH-4 project and set in the values from the UBS? Shouldn't be too hard to get the circuit replaced but there's the 24V charge pump and the additional depth control. Do those differen...

Thanks for the link!

Great information in there, the treble roll off could be useful. :)

Re: Active AMZ Presence Control?

I know that the circuits are basically two different animals but I guess they do work in the same manner because the Duncan calculator shows pretty much the same range as the graph from the active circuit. I wish I had time to dive into LT spice but I'm afraid that will take a view months more :roll...

Re: Active AMZ Presence Control?

You are sure to replace R9 with a pot and not R11? I put both values in the duncan tonestack calculator and it seems as the AMZ (red one) version has a loss of about 7dB compared to the other one (green). Then I played around with the values hoping getting some similar response with less loss (blue ...

Active AMZ Presence Control?

Hi guys, I've seen a DIY project with an active BMP tone control which seems pretty cool as you save one gain stage because it's placed in the feedback loop. So there is no need for a recovery stage respectively a buffer. Guess this could be very interesting for a view pedal builders.. I like the BM...

My new Octaver Design, opinions welcome!

Here's the schematic of an octaver pedal that I wanted to build for a friend a year ago. I never really had time to do a stripboard layout for it so it's still a work in progress. Just wanted to show you guys what I came up with and maybe get some feedback concerning the schematic. First stag...

Marshall Drivemaster Mod (KOT + Aefa Drive)

I have an unused Drivemaster pedal which I would like to modificate a bit. I already removed the hard clipping diodes. When I looked at the KOT I saw that there wasn't a huge difference, only the tonestack is different. Mark Hammer's Aefa Drive has an interesting soft clipping circuit that I want to...

Re: Death by Audio Octave Clang [traced]

Hi, I did a schematic with the Octave Clang in mind using a CMOS 4049 instead of an OP-amp. Because of the small amount of gain produced by one CMOS gainstage, I decided to boost it with a JFET as Input-Stage. There's a recovery stage to get even more gain out of it followed from a buffer. I wanted ...
